looking for some dirty water

Featured Replies

Since ENVDIR won't open anymore and REX textures aren't compatible with P3DV5 can anyone suggest inland water textures? I hate flying over a river, pond or lake I know good and well should be muddy and seeing almost ocean blue water. I was using ENVTEX successfully but it's unusable since they broke the ENVDIR app. I used REX textures in the FSX days and would purchase that if it were compatible but alas. Anyone knows of any other water textures for version five?

Apparently, only you and me @Patco Lch!

There was a water texture replacement for rivers over on the Orbx forums yonks ago, but I can't find it.

Rivers, lakes and ponds that have ocean blue tints everywhere just don't exist in the real world.
So frustrating that if EnvDir doesn't work, then there are no working texture alternatives.

Hello, I cannot help you in your search but for information Envdir works perfectly with P3D V5.

After the update in December it no longer opens. It appears many others have this problem.

I also encountered this problem, after a complete reinstallation it worked again

I'm glad that has worked for you.

Several attempts here to get it working after uninstalling, re-installing, running the troubleshooter.bat, downloading 'missing' MS Visual libraries, ensuring Enshade is installed first, etc. still doesn't allow me to run EnvDir. It's just a waste of many GBs of SSD space right now.

Anyway, that's off topic. Does anyone remember where the 'brown water' textures can be found?

Seems I found a solution on the TOGA support forum finally. Go to your C\Program data\Simmarket\licenses\ and delete everything TOGA.  Redownload Envshade and run the .exe which will bring up your Simmarket web window where you enter your registration number and simmarket will give you a new registration code. Also download and install the latest Envdir from TOGA web site. You'll have to repeat for Envtex and Envsound if you have that one.

Seems to work fine now after many days of frustration and high anxiety with this thing.

Be sure to uninstall all these first.

@F737NG was the above not what you are/were looking for ?

Can't remember if Rex did muddy water or not in one of their offerings.
