January 31, 20224 yr 9700K to 12700... in my mind, you probably aren't going to see much of a difference. I'd probably just hold on for a 4000 series GPU later this year.
January 31, 20224 yr i went from the 9700k to the 12700k and noticed a nice difference. Ability to run p3d with no frame locks now. Before that didn't work the best. The 12700k also plays nicer with the 3090 than my 9700k did. But realize OP is looking at 1080ti 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

I mainly fly PMDG NGXu, 777 and 747, ORBX, ActiveSky, Rex Skyforce. Haven't dipped below 60 FPS yet, but I'm always conservative with my settings and runn a 4K Monitor so no real need for Super Sampling. I'm coming from a 4790K at 4.4GHz so I'm hoping for at least a 2x boost in fps.
