Boeing (767-300 and 767-400ER) ...

Featured Replies

Recently, there has been several (excellent) B767 posts, here...by another member (a 767 fan) ...🙂...even painting fresh (own) liveries of the plane in interesting colors. 767 is a fascinating plane, indeed, for aviation enthusiasts. For myself, as I'm thinking now, the only (one) occasion I clearly recall, in RW, of ever having flown in a 767, was with Air Canada (in the so-called Toothpaste Livery), from Toronto to Montreal, many years ago...that too was a last-minute substitution, due to some (mechanical?) issue with the (originally scheduled) a/c, and that's why I still recall that impromptu (and short) 767 flight so well...

Today, besides the lingering impressions of the recent (aforesaid) B767 member posts here, there were two other triggers for this post of mine:

  1. A 767-400ER freeware upload file in the library (in Delta Airlines livery - see the first shot below)
  2. Also, a 767-400ER sighted on the Captain Sim Website exclusively for MSFS (Note: I was aware CS had 777-models available previously for MSFS but didn't know about the (CS) 767-400ER for MSFS; of course, this 767-400ER, as was for their (MSFS) 777, has a 777-style cockpit plus functionality and simulation paired with default (MSFS) 747; which, I perfectly understand, maybe a "no...no"...to the puritan simmers...🙂...anyway, the only (CS) B767 offer for MSFS, now, is, interestingly, only the "-400ER" model (which is the largest 767 variant). BTW, I was looking for a -400ER expansion for myself, at CS, but there is none for FSX/P3D... Oh well...no complaints...🙂...and I decided to fly the (CS) 767-300, for this post, instead...).

It's to be noted that Boeing never built a 767-400 variant (i.e., from 767-300/ER, the production jumped directly to 767-400ER, bypassing the -400, due to one or more marketing factors). The 767-400ER was the first Boeing wide-body jet resulting from "two" fuselage stretches ("767-200/ER" -> "767-300/ER" -> "767-400ER"). The FAA granted approval for the 767-400ER to operate 180-minute ETOPS flights before it entered service. Below, purely for (visual) comparison, I've shown one image of a (freeware) 767-400ER in Delta livery (see the 1st screenshot, below). The rest of the screenshots belong to a (CS) 767-300 in Air Canada livery. The -400ER is more than 20 ft longer than the -300 and it shows (compare e.g., the first two shots, below).

So, please find, below, a set of (symbolic) pictures of an Air Canada 767-300 (in Toothpaste livery), lifting off CYYZ (Toronto - Pearson) heading for CYMX (Montréal–Mirabel). I've performed a Cold & Dark engine-startup in Toronto (see first few pictures). The series concludes after the point of LNAV/VNAV activation (see last few pictures), where the plane is making a climbing right turn towards the next WPT per the FMC guided flightplan route (Montreal being ~300 miles northeast of Toronto).

Hope you enjoy this collection of (exterior and interior) pictures of this venerable and iconic jetliner...looking "legacy" but was certainly a true pioneer of its time, and still going strong today... (while I reminisce myself about the only B767 flight...I'd taken, years ago...the flight was just about an hour's duration...but I did get a few crackers and a soft drink...I suppose...🙂...) ...!

Thanks for viewing and good flying, yourselves...!!
