traffic toolbox and sp1

Featured Replies

Ok, I have everything working with the sp1 but traffic toolbox. I installed it back in the regular way using disk 1 and I also checked to see if I had the right settings. The traffic toolbox disable false or true thing, remember that? Anyway I loaded the game and the tools option is not there. I didn't realize that by doing a clean install that I would have to redo some things and I forgot how to do them. You will be suprised how many things you were used to and now have to set them up again, but so far the traffic toolbox is the only thing that I haven't gotten to work yet and I use it alot. Anybody have this issue yet? Thanks everyone.

You need to update the SDK using the SP1a patch fsx_sdk_sp1a.exeGeorge

well thank you. I can't beleive how stupid I was. installing that worked. Thank you for your quick help. I posted, went to get the mail and came back with an answer. I know you didn't need to know that but it just shows the power of the help from the community. My fsx is back to normal but my textures are blurry. Well off to read the forums to help with that one. Thanks

Hi George. I had the Traffic Toolbox working fine before SP1 on FSX. I completely reinstalled FSX and the SP1 patch. I did not think that the FSX SP1 patch had anything to do with the SDK. I have the SDK installed and previously ran the fsx_sdk_sp1a.exe. Do I need to rerun the fsx_sdk_sp1a.exe? I have the dll.xml file in the same folder as the fsx.cfg and all is set to false. I see the object placement, traffic toolbox, visual fx tool and the fsuipc dll's in my fsx.cfg trusted section but I get no tools dropdown in FSX. I do get the Addon for FSUIPC. Thanks, regards, Bob.

The TrafficToolBox.dll which is on the DVD will not work with FSX SP1.You have to have the Traffictoolbox.dll from the FSX SDK SP1a, which is a complete removal and reinstall of the original SDK.Right click on the Traffictoolbox.dll file - check the Product Version - if it says FSX SP1 20070510 - that is the one which works with FSX SP1.Also, the old file is dated 9/2/2006 and the new file is dated 5/10/2007

Hi Reggie. Thanks a lot. In my stupidity I thought I had run the SP1a SDK update. I had run the SP1 SDK update. I found the 1a version and installed it and all is well now. That fixed them all. Best regards, Bob.

Reggie, I have followed all recommendations on this forum and still I can not see traffictoolbox in FSX. I have installed a clean copy of FSX added Service Pack 1, then loaded SDKv1a. My DLL is below any adivce would be helpful. I am totally frustrated. My other addon's work below except for traffic toolbox<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?> - Launchdll.xmlFalseFalse - Object Placement ToolFalseFalseC:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKMission Creation Kitobject_placement.dll- Visual Effects ToolFalseFalseC:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKEnvironment KitSpecial Effects SDKvisualfxtool.dll- Addon ManagerFalsebglmanx.dll- FSUIPC 4FalseModulesFSUIPC4.dll- Traffic ToolboxFalseC:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKEnvironment KitTraffic Toolboxtraffictoolbox.dll

In some cases after you have updated to SP1 and the SDK SP1a you must run the ConfigSDK.exe file in the SDK folder. This is especially true if FSX and FSX SDK are installed in a User selected folder path rather then the default folder paths.Once the exe application file is run then the Menu will appear in FSX for traffictoolbox.
