If you start TC AFTER launching MSFS, you have to make sure to close TC after the update is downloaded, and then restart it. If you start TC before launching MSFS, the update will be easier.

This is one theory I abandoned some time ago after realising that starting TC before MSFS does not make any difference. I now use Add-on Linker to start AIG TC, along with Track IR, Aivlasoft EFB, FBW Server, Aviaworx server and MSFS in one click (well two because I still need to select MSFS in the TC drop down menu...) The only time I do start TC after having set my flight (but not at the "Fly" screen, is when I change the time of the sim because then I want AI to be in sync with the time of operation.

Today I made a flight from YSSY to VTBS - following the above method - where most of my gates were populated by planes at both airports with traffic taking off and landing.

I am still using the 05.0.24 build of AIG TC.  To put it simply, I am to scared to try the update. I recall the lengthy and cumbersome process of the orginal install and really dont want to do it again.  I think I am sticking with what I got.

How did you manage to disable auto updates?

At one point, while the server was down, I was able to start TC before the sim. After the server came back up, it was over for me. I had to start TC when the MSFS menu loaded. I've tried loading TC after I'm on the ramp with this latest version and all I was getting was a broken map and default airliners.

I was very close to buying AS Simple traffic this morning but I decided to wait and see if there's a way to get these updates to stop once it's working.

I have no idea, I just started TC again and that is the build number (is that current?) maybe in upgraded in the background.  This is TC only, I dont dare start the Manager.

I just loaded TC again and now the map is working. It shows airplanes moving, but there are no airliners at the airports. Too bad because it was such a nice add-on. I'm deleting and moving on.

Issue resolved.

I bought simple traffic and now I have plenty of AI with nice liveries and no more hassles.

Understood and good luck to you, I mean that.  I recall many months ago there was going to be another large developer for this type of thing.  But I don't recall who that was (either freeware or payware).  I am not referring to any of the commercial ones that are out know, it was truly very similar to AIG though.
