March 4, 20224 yr Hi all, Does anyone know of any current or expected add on that will show passengers embarking, sitting and disembarking aircraft? I like to see, at the end of a flight, the baggage being unloaded, etc. But I'm always disappointed by the seemingly empty aircraft! Cheers all and have a great weekend. Dan
March 4, 20224 yr Not seen anything like this myself. The only thing comes to mind is something called 'GSX' but i have no idea iff it is for msfs2020 yet.
March 4, 20224 yr The Kodiak has seated passengers. I've always thought that it would be cool to see avatars walking through the glass jetways. Here's a link that shows how passengers appear, and boxes. Edited March 4, 20224 yr by Waldo Pepper
March 4, 20224 yr Thats cool! For anyone interested there are some animated people at an airport in Greece called "Chios" i think. Its in Filberts freeware airport vid. There may be more but its the first one i have come accross. (they dont seem to be around the plane though, more around the airport generally)☺️
March 5, 20224 yr GSX is going to do just that, but I'd be surprised to see it released before mid 2023. The devs are putting in the time to redo all animations and models. Also the SDK is not currently complete enough for them to do the same menu screens they did in P3D, and ASOBO has said they don't find it likely they'll support mods with lots of menu items anytime soon, if ever. GSX also needs to communicate outside of its own folder which it sounds like isn't supported in MSFS. It's the only program currently in the works aiming to do as you described. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
March 5, 20224 yr Aerosoft's Paderborn airport (freeware) has animated people in the terminal. They actually look quite realistic. I posted a screenshot last year. Please, no more shuffling OMSI grandmas.

As explained, so many times, the infamous "OMSI grandma" is a character that was licensed from a company specialized in 3d models and, it happens that BOTH Aerosoft/OMSI and FSDT ended up licensing the same objects. How they'll look, both as a model/texture but especially in animation, it's obviously dependent on the capabilities of the graphic engine they are used in. The passengers in GSX are one of the few remaining things that are still in common between FSX and P3D so, they are not PBR but, instead, use very simple shading ( that how the original models were so, they look the same in OMSI too ) AND, more importantly, they use the FSX skeleton, which is limited to only 22 bones, which are not enough to achieve a realistic human animation. They are OBVIOUSLY going to be remade for MSFS, that's exactly what the previous poster was saying: it takes a while to bring ALL the GSX models and animations to MSFS-level of quality and, OBVIOUSLY, we won't be hampered to keep any backward compatibility with anything for the MSFS version. And, just that nobody would start a new meme about "FSDT copying Aerosoft passengers", which is likely to happen as soon we'll release the first videos with some passengers in action, the "Aerosoft" passengers can be bought by anyone on Turbosquid:https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-rigged---characters-animate-crowd-1592699 https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-rigged-animate-crowd-model-1431937 https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-rigged-photorealistic-rendering-model-1413846 We already bought them a while ago, just like Aerosoft did and, funnily enough, those are MUCH cheaper than the "OMSI grandma"... And no, we won't have JUST them, they are just a small fraction of the ones we already bought from various providers, so in total we should have at least 50-60 different characters, some licensed, some built from scratch.
