Constant 'awesome' describing everything from a cup of coffee to the planet Jupiter is bad enough, but don't get me started on 'iconic' and 'double-down'. Perhaps English lessons at school should include a vocabulary - it comes free of charge.

EDIT: Oh and 'infamous' when they mean famous.

And English lessons should include reading and writing.  Even 40 years ago when I was a development engineer the new grad engineers that came into the company to start their careers couldn't write a coherent sentence or even know when to start a new paragraph.  It was a boon for me because I started out as a technician and was promoted to development engineer simply because I could write proposals and instruction manuals for the test equipment my department made for the manufacturing floor.  In addition to my design work I did most of the writing for my department.

They were college graduates with degrees in engineering.  But they weren't educated...they were job trained.  And that training didn't include English composition or spelling.
