March 30, 20224 yr Any else getting CTD on the Exp. version? I really have had none. I uninstalled and reinstalled the stable and Dev. flew fine no issue. Went back to Exp. and it CTD about 10-20 into the flight. Latest nvidia driver? Reinstalled it as well after DDU. Chris Chiozza
March 31, 20224 yr Do you happen to know what triggered it? Did you press any buttons or do any maneuvers that preceded the crash both times? The FBW devs frequent this forum and will probably ask. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
March 31, 20224 yr Author Nothing just really flying around seeing if I could figure it out. Mine are actually a hard hang and crash to blue screen just to be clear. I had at 20 FPS vsync on 100mhz monitor and it was beautiful. Tried going to 30 vsync and still locked up. Not sure what to try now. Out of options unless I restore a backup and then up MSFS again. March 31, 20224 yr A system crash is pretty extreme for MSFS. You might need to pull the error log. (Just type "error" into the search bar on your task bar and it'll pop up with the View All Problems Report, and if you go to the time you had both system crashes you may find the source.) If it's blank because nothing was written, then you might want to try going into BIOS and spending a few hours running Memtest89, or searching for another memory/voltage/hardware cause. If the FBW can cause a system crash, then it's only a matter of time until something else does too. Edit / Disclaimer: I'm a novice user. The above helped me figure out my own crashes and errors. Some other members here will absolutely be able to help you better than I can. March 31, 20224 yr Author Looks like "Controls the DTS audio processing object" was the error. Not sure what that means. Just found it. It is related to my new headphones!! Unistalled for now....Will see Edited March 31, 20224 yr by cchiozza Chris Chiozza
March 31, 20224 yr Author Well that did not fix it. Managed one flight til bluescreen. Stored backup from 7 days ago. About to install update so we will see. The DTS app was there 7 days ago so its not that but did start to cause a problem. Man.... Chris Chiozza
March 31, 20224 yr Well I also had a CTD in the Exp. A32NX a few hours ago. First one in ages. Not a blue screen but a crash to Steam desktop. Happened while climbing out of Manchester for Stockholm while inputing decent winds into FMC from the Simbrief FP on the FlyPad. Rebooted the PC and this time entered decent winds while still in the bay and re flew the exact same flight plan, VNAV and all, without issue. Also had the new FlyPad 3 crash on another flight but it did not affect anything else and I continued the flight as normal, just no FlyPad. A message on the FlyPad said an error report was automatically sent to FBW dev team. It’s experimental so I accept it as part of the deal, even though this is very uncommon. Love the A32NX! March 31, 20224 yr CTD on the Experimental version as I updated it last night. Happened on situation load. Reverted to Dev version. No problem with this one. Since Experimental updates come sometimes more than once a day, they'll probably fix it soon. March 31, 20224 yr Author It appears that something, not sure exactly what, hosed my pc up. I had a backup and restored from 3/11 and reloaded SU8 an dloaded EXP. A320. SO far so good. Glad backup was good, BTW if you are looking for a backup solution, try Macrium. I have used others and have had some bad results. Macrium worked very well. Chris Chiozza
March 31, 20224 yr Pushing the latest update of the Experimental version fixed the CTD for me. Just completed a full LEMD-LPPT with no issues, and the new VNAV is shapping up really Great !!!
