Ghastly ghosting trail is gone

I beg to differ. I spent hours after the initial beta was released and tested the sim in depth and it was not present. Hence i made this thread. So how do you conclude it was never fixed?

Because I still see it, particularly noticeable on trees / masts against overcast clouds on takeoff roll.

There are lost of false reports or incorrect observations made all of the time with many things in the sim.  I am not blaming anyone, it is just a human thing, but working in the jobs I have, I have collected witness statements from many witnesses all for the same event, and everyone has been perceived differently, and sometimes not by a small margin.

I am always seeing that the weather depiction has improved, then it is poor again, then the cloud pixilation has gone, now it is back again, now this with the trails.  A lot of it is down to the inconsistency of MSFS itself, especially in different lighting conditions I think.  I see these inconsistencies myself every day.

Just wondering if this thing with the trails disappearing for some might be down to people using DX12.  They are still optimising it apparently.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I have never used DX12. I have a 1080ti and I'm assuming my performance would be bad using that!

I came from a 1080Ti a few months ago.  That card still performs exceptionally well in the sim.
You will probably see no difference in performance though if you try it - give it a go to see if you like it, it's easy to go back to DX11 if you have to.

There isn't much difference in performance between DX11 and DX12 in MSFS currently, but the potential is there when DX12 is optimised.
At the moment it is basically DX11 in a DX12 wrapper just to get things started.

Some people with certain graphics cards report 'smoother' performance with DX12, and they might have the chance to reduce issues like this issue with the trails at least.
The main problem with DX12 at the moment is that some add-on aircraft aren't compatible.
