April 16, 20224 yr Hiya Dave , Yesterday was flying LEIB- LFTZ with a cruise altitude of 34000 feet. Near to approach ATC started to give me the vectors for manual approach and tol me to descent to 22000 feet, but he kept giving me only heading instrucctions since i was a few miles to destination airport then told me to descent from 22000 to 4000 feet. Obviously that instructions had ruined my flight because was imposible to make that descent to 4000 feet in a few miles. Is there a way you can fix the descent calculations in the new updates pls?

April 18, 20224 yr I had that too a couple of times on the newest beta, basically everytime ATC goes into vectoring mode early. It will not give further descent instructions after the "start pln alt" until very late (like 5 nm before turn to final, with like 12000 to 3500 feet within those 5 nm, which is obviously impossible) Edited April 18, 20224 yr by Fiorentoni For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
September 1, 20223 yr I have been flying ENAL-VIR-FLO-FLS-ENBR and ENBR-FLS-FLO-VIR-ENAL a couple of times lately and I have had the exact same problem every time. ATC starts vectoring me and telling me to stay on FL120 (My cruise altitude.). After a while I get instructions to descend to FL110 and way to late I get instructions to descend to 5000 ft. (Trying enroute-descent and change FL requests has been ignored or denied by ATC) In order to make the flight I have cheated and start the descent to 5000 when instructed to descend to FL110 without any nagging from ATC when below FL110. I will get the descent instruction to 5000 at the same place as when I follow ATC instructions.
September 2, 20223 yr Commercial Member The next Public Beta, Beta 7, will have a totally reworked arrival logic so this sort of thing shouldn't happen. For now, if you are getting vectors, you can press the APPR button to display the intended track and altitudes. This will let you see what ATC is supposed to be doing and when it should be giving you descents. It may break large descents into increments of 5-6000 feet. Dave
