June 2, 20224 yr I had the same issue in the airport and I was puzzled since RC never mis-vectors 🙂 However I did not bother to check since I rarely fly into CYUL. Using FT version as well Excellent! 👍 Thanks for confirming you’ve had the same problem. I’m going to edit the AFCAD tomorrow trying the recommendations above and will report my findings. June 3, 20224 yr Author Moderator I turned off "Enable Back Course" and recompiled the AFCAD. Updated RC files and tried the flight again using weather from two days ago to ensure I had a southerly approach. Still the same problem of being vectored way too late onto a heading that would never intercept the localiser. I checked the mag dec and it's -15. This site shows it as -14 so that side is okay. Going to search FT forums for a new AFCAD. Can't see how to change primary / secondary runways which I suspect is now the problem. Looking at many other AFCADs the lower runway number is always the primary. Not so with Montreal. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 3, 20224 yr Author Moderator Problem solved. It was magnetic variation that was incorrectly set as -15 in the FT AFCAD when it should have been 15. Hence why RC thought the airport was in a different place to where it actually was. My thanks to @rmeier I found the discussion on the FT forum from 2013 with a fixed AFCAD. I'm always late to the party. A short flight from Ottowa confirmed the problem is now fixed. 👍 Just one final comment. I bought this airport last November so it’s disappointing that FT never corrected the magnetic deviation value in the 7 years since it was first reported. June 3, 20224 yr Wow, that's odd. Do you have V2 of Montreal (released in 2018) installed via the FlyTampa Universal Installer? I just looked again at the original ADE that installed with CYUL V2 and the magvars are set to "15" on all the ILS approaches to all three runways. The ADE I have is ADEP4_CYUL_GL_2018.BGL dated 4/18/20. I'm wondering if maybe you have an aftermarket ADE file, like say a GSX or dynamic lighting mod that used the original V1 ADE file as its base. I do remember seeing GSX in the AFCAD name so that would explain things. A Spanish gentleman (Cartayna) provided lots of files for enhanced jetways for GSX owners. I suspect I have used his. Oh well, all's well that ends well. I imagine I may not be alone although many people have moved on to MSFS. Ray (Cheshire, England).
