June 3, 20224 yr I would like to record my full flights and put them on youtube but do not know where to begin? Do you need any special software to do this? Also once you record your full flight, considering the file would be quite large as I fly in 4K with flights ranging between 1-2hrs. I would have to compress this down and optimize it somewhat before uploading it to youtube. Could someone please tell me what settings I need to use to get a well balanced file where the quality is still good with the file size being small? June 4, 20224 yr There are a number of options, although using Nvidia GeForce Experience's video capture is probably the easiest. You can choose the definition to record at, or, you can keep your original at 4k and when uploading to YouTube can convert the video to 1080 or 1440. (Personally I find 1080 perfectly acceptable for watching YouTube vids full screen. You can upload just the video grab to YouTube, or you can import your raw vid into an editor (I've used the NCH suite video editing; intuitive and efficient). The "Photos" app that comes with Win 10/11 can also do very basic video editing (eg, adding a soundtrack, captions and very basic effects). June 4, 20224 yr Try OBS, Nvenc codec like Shadowplay, then you can set up the quality and resolution how you like it. [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]
