June 21, 20223 yr Good day Chaps. Reaching out to you all who are a lot more clever than I to ask if upgrading to a EVGA 3080 TI FTW will be a noticeable upgrade from my current 2070? Thanks for your input in advance. Intel i9 14900k ASUS 5080 GeForce RTX Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1 TB NZXT Kracken AIO CPU Cooler CORSAIR 750D High Airflow
June 21, 20223 yr I recently went from a 1080TI to the EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080TI and have been blown away by this card, it is a beast. For me definitely the best upgrade I have done in ages. I am in the middle of upgrading my entire PC as my i5-9600K struggles a bit to keep up with the 3080TI. I brought this 3 month old card for $1,200 CDN (Currently they are around $1500 + taxes) I checked out the serial with EVGA and they have transferred the warranty to me. One thing I did was undervolt this card, I see no performance issues and with my new MSI 850W Gold PSU it is drawing on average 250W, with my old 750W PSU it was around 300W after the undervolt plus look at the temps in the screenshots. I also realized yesterday there is a switch on the card for overclock/normal. I am running it in normal as I did not know that switch existed lol I am still locking my FPS @ 30 right now to give my i5-9600K a chance running the Ultra preset. This weekend I will be adding an i7-12700K, MSI Pro 690 & 32GB DDR4 3600. Below are screenshots from my current flight into Verona. I did lots of research and this card constantly got great reviews. Looking at your hardware though you may well find yourself CPU bottlenecked with your i7-6700K, my CPU is 3 generations newer and can very quickly get pegged at 100%. Just bear that in mind, I already planned to upgrade my CPU/motherboard/RAM although I have been surprised how my i5-9600K has performed. June 22, 20223 yr Don't want to hijack the thread, but would consider taking that 1080ti off ur hands...send a private message if interested. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
July 14, 20223 yr The increase in fps would be a whole lot. Definite improvement. +100% means doubling speed. Look like +122% (that's for games in general, not MSFS). https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3080-Ti-vs-Nvidia-RTX-2070/4115vs4029 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
