Hi,

Both 3rd party dev airports are on 35% off sale on Simmarket. Wanted to get feedback on their quality. 

I'm specifically interested in Double T VTBS & SKBO & DOMINICDESIGNTEAM SPJC.

I only have DominicDesignTeam airports (also SPJC). They are okayish. Better than default obviously, but not high quality or very detailed. Unless one can expect some other developer to come out with something better in the future, I‘d say it‘s okay on sale.

Double T I don‘t have but I think they are really bad. For SKBO Bogota there‘s another developer on the MSFS marketplace that has a GREAT SKBO, I don‘t remember the name  but it‘s great and worth it even full price. Buy that instead of double T.

I bought it yesterday out of frustration (caused by the lack of interest of top scenery developers such as FSDT, FlyTampa, FlightBeam for Asia in general). I knew - from the available comments on Simmarket - that I would not get a top-of-the-line product and... I was not disappointed... I got what I paid for (the discounted price I mean, the normal price is a rip-off!).

Bad textures all over, especially at night in the main terminal, lack of attention to details, for example flight information boards shown inside announce Easyjet, Olympic, etc, (all listed don't fly to Bangkok) and the same boards outside on the curb (without any traffic) are upside down, vehicles in the parking lots are parked across the grid instead of within the correct spaces, walkways inside terminals look like rectangular ponds, expressways stops suddenly at the terminal limits, taxiways, tarmac and runways look like default. Generally speaking this is a freeware level product (there is one VTBS on FlightSim-to, have a look). I'd give this product a solid 2.5 stars out of five.

If you - like me - don't expect any of the quality crowd developers to take Bangkok in their upcoming list of projects in the foreseeable future, that is OK!

But do try the freeware first.

I almost entirely agree with Bernard about VTBS (especially on the night lighting being disappointing, when it should be spectacular). That said, I bought it in spite of being able to see from screenshots that it wasn’t great exactly because it’s still a significant step up from the available freeware, IMHO. The modeling is solid and there’s quite a bit more detail than in the freeware.

I’m certainly not a cheerleader for this developer, and I’d frankly hesitate to buy anything else they produce. Just to say that if you’re looking for the best VTBS available for MSFS — money no object! — this is probably it.
