July 1, 20223 yr I just changed the aircraft to fly to another variant of the same aircraft (the Aerosoft DH6 Twin Otter and there are variants for wheeled, floats, skis etc) and found that the keyboard mapping which I set up for another variant (which I named DH6 KEYBOARD) does not work with the different variant I chose (eg I had set up all the NUM keypad number keys to different cockpit instrument views). All the instrument panels look the same so why would the keys I mapped work I wondered. I have to assume then that keyboard settings become part of a particular aircraft or variant. I had a look in Settings and did not notice anything there to enable my keyboard mapping to be copied to another aircraft. Is it possible and if so how? Thanks. July 1, 20223 yr Hello John, I assume you call "keyboard settings" the shortcuts you have created for a specific airplane to customize the cockpit/instruments views. You'll find the camera.cfg files here: C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes They are the files you want to copy for your different variants. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.

I assume that all I need to do is copy the cameras.cfg to each of the other subfolders for each aircraft variant? That is easy and again thanks for the advice. 21 minutes ago, Lorby_SI said: as opposed to being just a livery of the same aircraft sharing the same cfg file(s)). Thanks. Yes I assumed that HOWEVER how do the downloadable liveries work they as they seem to share one or more variant? Also (not nice) at least two liveries I downloaded (and copied to the community folder 'as is') resulted in no 'thumbnail' in the aircraft selection screen and if actually selected results in a 'ghost' aircraft 😁ie no outside or inside view of the aircraft. That is easy and again thanks for the advice. My pleasure. Yes, that's all you need to do. If you don't see one of your variants in the Airplanes folder, (i.e. "skis"), select this specific variant in MSFS and create a single view (ctrl+alt +1) once, and then the folder will be automatically created in Airplanes. After doing that, you'll replace the new created "cameras.cfg" file with the one you want to copy. July 2, 20223 yr Author That then answers another question I would have asked viz can I backup/restore user setups. And of course YES. Regards John Gigabyte Z390 m/b, i7 9700K cpu, 16Gb Hyper X Fury 3200 ram, RTX2060 6Gb, Gigabyte 32" monitor, MSFS 2020 store edition
July 2, 20223 yr Lorby_SI mentioned above, this problem with the Twin Otter package is they made it so they are all different planes, instead of just different liveries. And that is an unusual way and not the standard way. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
