Hawaii for P3dv5?

Featured Replies

I’ve been looking for Hawaii scenery for p3dv5. I see a Simviation version that looks quite good, but reviews suggest installation difficulty. It’s free, and pics of it look extremely realistic. Other versions seem to go back a few years and do not mention p3dv5.
Hopefully, my fellow simmers here might have some suggestions for this beautiful topography in the state of Hawaii.

Orbx Cityscape honolulu actually covers the whole island of Oahu. Shown as  P3D 4 in main title but lower down the supported sims are shown as 4 and 5

I do not have this scenery, but there are plenty of screenshots on the Orbx website.

Following up on my previous post, you can see the people that generated all the islands of Hawaii at https://flight-sim-jewels.com/hawaii-photoreal/.  Downloads at https://hawaii-photoreal.com/downloads-fsx-p3d/. Works great. Just carefully follow the instructions and all will be well. I don't use their airports since I use FSDT's Hawaiian airports but use the remainder of the autogen. No performance issues. All freeware unless you want the "Plus" version which adds a few niceties. Enjoy!

Thanks.  I'll check this out.  The Fly Away Simulation version has ZERO instructions on how to install.  Others have complained about its installation difficulty.  I tried it and I wasn't sure how to get it into P3d (which is on a separate drive from C).  This scenery looks like it's much more workable.

Orbx Cityscape plus FSDT here and very happy...  It's not the entire chain but it's very good and PHOG/PHLI are good and quick go to destinations 🙂

Me too.  After reading all the responses, I bought the ORBX Cityscape today.  I am very pleased with it.  There are 5 airports in Hawaii most used and flown to.  They are these:

  • Honolulu (PHNL)
  • Maui - Kahului - (PHOG)
  • Hilo ((PHTO)
  • Lihue (PHLI)
  • Kona (PHKO)

I will try to get the other four (4) of these individually, if possible.  My goal being to just improve the airports in each of them.  PHNL looks great along with Honolulu in the ORBX edition.

Thanks for all your input.

Stan -- where did you see that those non-Oahu airports are included? They are not listed on the Cityscape page -- only the Oahu-based airports. See https://orbxdirect.com/product/cityscapehonolulu

No, I didn't say that.  Cityscape ONLY has Honolulu and vicinity.  At the end of my post, I said that I would like to get the 4 other airports on that list from somewhere ("I will try to get the other four (4) of these individually, if possible").

Sorry for the misunderstanding in my statement.

No problem. I use all of FSDT's Hawaiian airports.  If you want to use freeware, check out https://flight-sim-jewels.com/hawaiian-airports-by-george-keogh/.

Are you in triple figures for temp back there? Here in Tucson we are in monsoon season. Got 1.2" of rain in 2 hours last night at home. A real drencher (for this area at least).

Stay cool!

Thank you, pgde.  Good tip.  It is in the 90's here in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. But the heat index is easily in the low 100's.  It's the humidity that kills you. Arizona is hot, but it is much dryer from a humidity standpoint.

How did you install it to v5? I only have it in P3dv4.

Thanks Michael Moe
