Austin flies Helicopter in XP12

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

I still remember when Autin announced, around 1997, X-Rotor as a sequel to X-Plane speifically built for rotaries...

By that time X-Plane was so expensive that I couldn't afford it, but the demo version was always available and we could play with it, over a mostly whitish ( like snow covered ) scenery and get the sensation of flight that somehow was not possible in MS FS.

While we were waiting for the first version on X-Rotor to debut Austin made the announcement that changed the course of his flight simulation platform for good - X-Plane and X-Rotor would get integrated into a unique platform and released as the Next version of the sim !  I was really eager to try the first simulated helicopters in X-Plane and I started buying X-Plane with when version 7 was released 🙂

But human brain is tricky, specially for guys like me who aren't very attentive to details ...  I was puzzled to find out by the half cycle of XP9 that X-Plane hadn't actually been modelling "torque" from the engine / props until then, or, at least that's what Austin made me realize when he announced an update that included torque ! This has happened to me in many other circumstances - sometimes Austin announces features that I honestly couldn't imagine weren't yet available / implemented  ( ? ) but that's probably me, and my kind of hiperactivity 🙂

I am really hopping for the Best regarding XP12 and the changes Austin introduced in the flight dynamics department, although AFAIK rotaries haven't got big updates.

My controllers prevent me from getting the most out of it though. Only rich simmers like @Humpty Dumpty, the West Indi Piloteeee,  can afford such stuff at home 😜...

Yes as a rich Humpty I can afford it.

Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

Austin deserves an Oscar for that opening 😆
