MSFS2020 Objects

Featured Replies

Hello, please advise, i7 12700 k, 32 Mb Ram, RTX 3070ti.

Parked on the ramp and the yellow taxi signs are away, zooming closer and the yellow signs are appearing, actually not far from the taxiway. Any advise please?

thanks

It's normal MSFS.  It's to keep frame rates as high as possible.  Nothing that you can do about it unfortunately.

Thank you so it’s not my settings problem

No.  I have tried increasing terrain and object LOD, but it doesn't seem to affect it.

I hope Asobo can deal with it one day, as it breaks the immersion a bit.  As for frame rates, it shouldn't really be an issue for something so graphically simple compared to the airport terminals etc.  I have static traffic on the ground (from Latin VFR) that gradually appear quite beautifully - dozens of aircraft, and this doesn't affect the frame rate in any significant way.

The MSFS graphics engine seems to cope with 3d-objects very well actually.  I think the popping-in of runway signs is due to some kind of arbitrary limit set by Asobo when the game was first being developed.  There is certainly no need for them to be displayed so late.  Come to think of it, isn't this a carry-over from FSX?  I seem to remember those runway signs popping into view quite late as well.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Unfortunately, this is one thing that became worse duríng the last few sim updates.
