I'm glad I went with the AMD and not waiting until the end of October. 5800X3D is doing the job.

I now find myself in an interesting replacement scenario.  I have a newish 12700k and MB.  I have had USB related issues with my MB.  From my deep scouring of the web, I see I'm not alone.  Numerous paths of troubleshooting and I always end up back in the same place.  So I've come to the decision that I'm going to scrap my MB and CPU and sell it used.  I have two options.

-Buy 5850X and AM4 board now and use right away.  I have 3600 CL`14 DDR4 and 3 M.2's.

-Wait for 7850X and get a new MB AND new DDR5 ram.

In a way I'm leaning to option 1 because I get to do it now, and it's a known commodity.  Plus I don't have to buy more ram.  However as any flight simmer, I'm always looking over my shoulder.  I'm sure the 7850x will end up being the best CPU for flying.

Your MB is compatible with Intel 13900K Raptor Lake CPU with a BIOS update, Wait for the benchmarks you may find the Intel will outperform the 7850X. And for a fraction of the cost.

Well aware sir.  You missed the part about the USB electrical issues.  I'm replacing the board.  My reason for upgrading is not performance.  though I'll take it.

EDIT: I made the move.  Went 5800x3d and the Gigabyte X570S MB.  Cost for those was not bad.  Especially considering I should get decent money selling the old MB and CPU

Why not the 5800X3D?! You're the only that told me about it! The gains are massive!

It’s not.  The whole product line is known to have intermittent issues in very specific situations which 99.9% of users would never experience
