PMDG 737-800 spoiler keeps jumping up and down

Featured Replies

Not sure why, but my controller handle spoiler on the PMDG 737 is just jumping in and out of its rest position.  Linked to an axis and controlled through my Hotas throttle setup - it has worked perfectly until now. Have used alternative controls on the keyboard, but not yet found the answer.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Make sure it's well calibrated. Sounds like the axis may be fluctuating. Also ensure that no other axis is assigned to it as well. I've had that happen to me. I know that some of the pots get quirky on some controllers. You may have to play with your axis during calibration to null it out. You know, set it so that the boards are fully retracted before your axis hits it's stop.

Most likely a spurious USB signal, and not necessarily from the controller axis it is assigned to, it could be any of your USB hardware sending that signal.

Does this happen even when the spoiler lever is in off position or after landing when spoilers are deployed?
In my case I had this happening when I arm speedbrakes and they deployed after landing. I even opened a ticket with PMDG. Looks like certain hardware may work differently. My solution was to create a small dead zone near off position so when I arm speedbrake there was no conflict. After landing speedbrake deploy normally now. Hope it makes sense.

Check your deadzones. Not just for the speedbrake but for reversers too (a transient reverse signal will deploy speedbrakes.)

I have a similar issue (Hotas Warthog) with the spoiler lever even when it is in the off position. I ended up to unassign the axis that I used for the spoiler...
