October 11, 20223 yr I just want to know, if each time I have to start the Fenix Airbus in cold and dark state, that I must turning on the lights on PFD and ECAM. The reason, I can't see the Self Test in all instruments (like ECAM.... etc) For example, In Toliss Airbus, I can start the simulation in Cold and Dark within the instrument light on (PFD, ECAM... etc) Is it possible to do that. Thanks for any aswer.
October 11, 20223 yr No, for some reason they now start turned down. So you have to turn up the brightness on each panel. I don't know why they did this as a number of RW A320 pilots say you would never see that apart from first flight of the day, and even then unlikely. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Probably, one day, that’s can be working like the real life. Probably it’s possible to modify a file inside MSFS 2020 folder. I don’t know how to do that. thanks

They reason they turned off the displays on cold and dark was t at many users complained and whined that the displays should be turned off to make it "realistic". So they did that, and now people are complaining about the displays being off. Go figure....

Just reporting on the real operation of the panels as stated by a number of RW Pilots| You see when people start moaning about what they want to see, giving not a hoot for others or reality, this is what happens. Reminds me of the early days of this sim, where people were moaning the cities at night looked bad, Infact they were pretty good, but then what we had was months of the night lighting changing, to it's detriment. Be careful what you wish for.. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Which is why I (almost) always start with the turn around state. Afaik even on the first flight of day pilots will find the basics turned on in the cockpit (which I think is done by maintenance or some otther ground crew, I'm not sure) and even if that's not the case, most flights are started in a turn around state anyway. So I am told. A lot of simmers seem to think that the cold and dark state is the way to go each and every time, and they are really obsessed by it. but if you want to simulate regular day to day flying you should use the turn around state instead. (BTW The new updated turn around state of the Fenix is quite good, better than the old one.)

It's almost as if flight simmers are not a collective hivemind at all but actually consists of different people with varying opinions. Dimming down the displays was probably a lot more common when the displays were still CRT. I don't know why you would bother doing it with the modern displays.

I always start the PMDG aircraft in long turnaround and totally forgot turnaround state was available in the Fenix, thanks for the reminder, will update my config and start this way from now on. October 12, 20223 yr Author Thanks for your answers. That’s should be very interesting to have an option in the EFB to allow the lights up or not in Cold and Dark state. That’s must be the best solution for everybody. Please, Felix Staff… can you do this for us. That will be a great addition. best regards Coussini
