October 14, 20223 yr Just checking to see if this is normal. When I fly into icing conditions, I get the yellow caution light that says 'icing protection' not active. However, the switches are all set to 'norn' except engine ice. I'm pretty sure when I turned those on, the caution alert went away. Also, even with anti-ice on, my windshield still gets pretty glazed. Is that normal?

October 28, 20223 yr Author Oh yeah, I'm loving it. Got a nice tailwind, and cruising along at 430 kts GS right now, enroute to Pensacola 😁

November 18, 20223 yr Author Any news on the icing update? Now that it's cold, I'm getting ice all the time, and it's pretty annoying. I guess I can just turn off icing in the settings, but that hurts realism. Here's what my windshield looks like with icing protection ON. https://imgur.com/a/cPbUSE1

That said, not having read any FARs and other pertinent regs, I suggest that small portion of clear glass would pass muster for a full stop landing “As Is” Am I wrong? November 18, 20223 yr Author Not sure, TBH. It's doable, but I would think the de-icing would do a better job. Never flown in that stuff in real life, though. Maybe this is "normal" for this plane?

Maybe this is "normal" for this plane? Nothing to do with individual aircraft models. Icing, like most other weather elements such as lightening, thunder, and turbulence, even visibility once upon a time, have all had their times of being overcooked in MSFS. It is like there can be no happy or realistic median. Seems to be total reaction to complaints. There is none, then there is too much. Then there is none again. And on it goes from one extreme to the other. Seems like a lack of understanding of what is realistic. Further evidenced from my perspective as a former meterologist by as another example: ATIS/AWOS reported dew points higher than the reported temperatures. Nothing short of embarassing, but seems after more than two years to learn and apply, such weather elements are just not understood.
