October 17, 20223 yr Never said there was no blood and gore Noel, but they just die. They don't squirm and whimper.

As it said, in 40 years there's been a "handful" of titles. I know none that currently glorify pain, cruelty suffering, like your Robocop film. I'm not sure those in the past did to be honest, unnecessary gore, of course.
October 18, 20223 yr Some of mine even have a setting to turn the gore off. 23 hours ago, birdguy said: Well, what fun is that? Noel Target practice Noel, target practice...
October 18, 20223 yr Author Sue, I think I've had enough target practice with real weapons to fill my need for accuracy. I have expert badge or ribbon for both pistol (.38 and .45) and rifle (both M-16 and M-1 Garand) plus my boyhood .22s (no badge or ribbon for those.) Not an expert but not too shabby either trap and word not allowed shooting. Familiarized with BAR and 30cal machine gun as well as 60mm mortar. A grunt has to know how to operate any weapon he may find in the field. But I never did experience the thrill of blowing someone's head off. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

During the war my father was in the Home Guard, he claimed to probably be the first person to join, as when the announcement was made to form the Home Guard on the radio, he quickly nipped a few doors away to the police station and joined up. The police hadn't a clue what he was talking about as they hadn't heard the announcement, but they put his name down anyway. Well, while serving in the home guard, numerous boxes arrived from you guy's in the US, replete with all manner of weapons. My dads task was to test them. They were jam packed with grease and needed striping down and cleaning, reassembling and then testing. One of those weapons' was a BAR which he test fried in a cellar. Don't need to tell you how deafening that was. He had quite a few adventures in the Home Guard, which included being on patrol during an air raid and being knocked off his bike when a piece of shrapnel bounced of his helmet. Not to mention guarding a ticking time bomb.
October 19, 20223 yr Author That grease the weapons were covered with was called cosmoline. When I was issued my first M-1 in the Marines it was covered with cosmoline. My platoon had been issued brand new weapons and it took us a day to clean off all the cosmoline. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
October 19, 20223 yr Author Why is s-k-e-e-t a 'word not allowed? It's a popular form of 'target' shooting with a shotgun shotgun and s-k-e-e-t shooting is practiced everyday. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

Noel To be honest, the naughty word filter is a bit weird sometimes. I used the anatomical name for a lady part the other day, in the microbiome thread, I mean its a bit weird if we aren't allowed to call a body part by its real name. Bit Victorian if we cant. On a different forum I used to moderate, a cockpit was switched to "male chicken pit" 🤣
