ANA ("Pokémon" and "Mohican") Boeing 767-300...

(Payware) Developers may create planes, that we like to fly, based on our personal interests, but it's the repainters that add the extra bits of fun, variety, and learning to that plane, by contributing (additional) liveries and colors, whether RW or fictional. These repainters continuously search the planet...🙂...on our behalf, looking for interesting liveries to recreate...for that specific plane. This is significant, because just as the plane itself has a life story to tell, each of its liveries (aka the airlines and colors) also have a story to tell, with a unique appeal and use to the enthusiast, of their own. For example, the same B737 operating in the flatlands of U.S. Midwest in the AA color, will have quite a different life compared to the B737 of e.g., the Bolivia's flag carrier operating in some of the most mountainous and highest inhabited areas in the world...

Anyway, while recently exploring a bit, about All Nippon Airways (ANA), for my earlier post(s), I spotted first the (Air Do) Pokémon repaint of a B767, and then I spotted another B767 repaint in the classic (older) ANA color, that was historically used by ANA for decades....both based on RW repaints but by different repainters...and "COINCIDENTALLY" I found...both repaints referring to the "same" 767 airframe.

Air Do is a Japanese regional airline that operates scheduled services in cooperation with All Nippon Airways (ANA). ANA and Air Do share a number of business relationships, including ANA code sharing on Air Do operated flights and Air Do leasing 767 aircraft from ANA.

So, here is the bit of life story of this (particular) B767-300 (Reg. JA602A):

  1. Delivered new from factory, from Everett, in 1998 to ANA (painted in the regular ANA color)
  2. Painted in the Classic ANA "Mohican Jet" special colors in 2009 (see the last 3 images below)
  3. Transferred/Leased to "Air Do" airline of Japan, in 2016, and painted in the (Air Do) "Pokémon Jet" special colors (see images below)
  4. Since Dec. of last year (12/2021), it's stored, waiting to be scrapped... (i.e., end-of-life, after ~24 years of active service) ...

So, please find below, first, pictures of the Pokemon-themed Boeing 767-300 featuring the Alolan and Vulpix characters, lifting off from the Runway, and climbing away up to the point of LNAV/VNAV activation for automatic navigation, for an FMC guided flight. Then, I've shown 3 pictures of the same Boeing 767-300 (look for the same Reg. JA602A, on the fuselage), but wearing the classic "Mohican Jet" livery, which is special to ANA because this color was first introduced in 1969 when ANA received its very first B737. Also, the (intricate) logo that's seen on the tail reflects the roots of ANA. The "Helicopter" (like) symbol refers to "Nippon Helicopter and Aeroplane" that was the predecessor of today's ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS (ANA).

Hope you enjoy this collection of pictures, below, of the (Air Do and ANA) Boeing 767 colors, in two special liveries, one for each airline...!

[If you're interested, here is a nice (3m:47s) video clip of this RW (ANA) B767-300 (Reg. JA602A), in the "Mohican Jet" livery, from taxi to takeoff. Plese search for "[Mohican Jet Livery] ANA Boeing 767-300 JA602A TAKE-OFF TOYAMA Airport JAPAN".... quite a graceful plane, in the classic ANA color...Hope you enjoy...!]
