Can you post a screenshot I don't have anything resembling a pause button either in WMR or the MSFS preview window

I'll add to this list of tips. If you're using a Reverb G2 with Windows 11 and you are getting all kinds of micro-stuttering, it could be the HolographicShell process causing you trouble. You can use Windows' System Tools to stop this process from running ( "Computer Management -> System Tools -> Performance -> Data Collector Sets -> Event Trace Sessions"). Stopping that process made all of the micro-stutters I was dealing with go away.

It's a known issue and apparently there's a fix for it in the latest Windows 11 Beta if you are on that Insiders track.

I think I am experiencing exactly this problem. I have a pretty strong system but experience micro-stuttering. I am running Windows 11. I will give this a try. Thank you for posting.

It worked for me and I hope it works for you. However, it may not be necessary any longer. Microsoft has released a fix for this issue. You just need to apply KB5020044 (OS Build 22621.900) which includes a fix for the HolographicShell issue.

See https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/windows-11-22h2-update-available-to-address-performance-issue-holographicshell-event-tracing/561340 for more details.

I just installed KB5020044 and the micro-stuttering is gone! I'm brand new to VR. HP had the Reverb G2 on sale, so I though I would give it a try. After applying this update I am very pleased with the result. Thank you again for the help and pointing me in the right direction.

I'm happy to hear that the patch cleared up your micro-stutters. It worked for me as well so that's two data points.

I, too, am fairly new to VR and learning new things all of the time. If you don't mind YouTube and/or Discord, I can recommend two really great sources of information for dialing in your VR setup:

First, Mark over at SimHangar Flight Simulation posted a great series of videos about MSFS and VR. There's an entire playlist but this is the one that walks you through setup from start to finish and offers some basic settings based on your PC specs:

He's got a bunch more videos related to VR that are worth your time as well.

Secondly, there's the VR Flight Sim Guy channel (https://www.youtube.com/@VRFlightSimGuy). Again, a great resource for all things VR and flight simming. He also has a Discord where there are a great bunch of people who offer tips on setting up your VR system. I know a lot of people don't like Discord but this one seems to remain quite civil and friendly the majority of the time.

I have no affiliation with either of these two channels; I'm just a very satisfied viewer.
