December 27, 20223 yr Hi guys, want to upgrade my dear "MSI 3090 Gaming X Trio" to a RTX 4090, was thinking to stay with MSI and go for the "MSI 4090 Gaming X Trio" or the "Suprim X". The 3090 I have has nearly no coil whine (or at least it can't be heard when the case is closed) so was hoping the new (4090) generation of MSI cards are similar regarding this issue .... Can anyone with a 4090 (not just MSI) please report how their card performs regarding this issue, thanks! PS: I know not every card is the same regading noise levels and it can be like a lottery to get on that is (very) quiet ... December 28, 20223 yr I had coil whine with my 2080Ti and 3090 and then 4090. Turned out to be the PSU. I swapped it and don't have any now. FWIW I have a TUF 4090 Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers

I've seen several posts suggesting that the higher FPS the 4090 is able to deliver in most games results in a more audible coil whine because it's at a higher frequency.
