Adding additional stock voices to Pilot2ATC Windows 11

Recommended Posts

All,

Has anyone had success adding additional voices to Pilot2AC within the Windows 11 operating system?  I have seen how some have accomplished this in Windows 10, but does not appear the same in Windows 11.

Thanks

Watch this step-by-step video.  I did it and added 25 additional voices.

This video may also be useful to you for "normalizing" the voices or making them sound more "radio" realistic.

Hello All,

This is a post for everyone struggling to get a good P2A in 2024 for no additional money.

I have found a new way to add 20+ high quality voices, quickly and for free. These are the steps to reproduce what I have done (Win 11):

  1. Open "Settings", then go to "Accessibility" > "Narrator".
  2. Under the "Narrator's voice" group, click "Add" next to "Add natural voices", and install all the voices you desire.

Note: by default, the usage of these "natural" labeled voices is restricted, so they can only be used by the Win narrator. We need a program that makes them available (you can read more in the git repo linked below).

To make the voices usable:

  1. Download the ".zip file" under "Assets" from the github release.
  2. Extract the zip, and place it where you would like to keep it.
  3. Open the "Installer" executable file inside.
  4. Tick the two available checkboxes (i suggest to choose only the "Current display language & English (US)" under the MS Edge option)
  5. Install Both 64 and 32 bit adapters by clicking on the "Install" buttons next to them. Once installed correctly, the "Uninstall" button will be enabled (no longer "grayed out").
  6. Launch (or reboot P2A), and you should see the newly installed voces.

IMHO these voices are miles better than the default ones.

I really hope this post has managed to help you.

Be sure to download and install all the voices you want before you try running the NaturalVoiceSAPIAdapter program from GitHub.

Downloading just the 7 English voices, after running the Adapter program, 49 new voices appeared, including 42 "online" voices.  Some have the same name as non-online voices, but sound different.  The variety and quality of most of them are amazing.
