Duxford

If you are into vintage planes, Duxford is always a great spot to hang around.

Even when the weather can be a bit of a challenge on occasion

But luckily that can change quickly

That rainy day shot looked wet and real, but I'm glad it cleared off for the show. 🙂 Great lineup of aircraft. Glad to see the Viscount there.

Lovely stuff Bernd. Haven't been there for probably 25 years or more, but fond memories of the couple of trips there. Great to be reminded, thank you!

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Excellent set Bernd, like a walk-around at a real airshow.  I visited there once and loved it.

very nice shots, and yes Duxford is great!

I like that Me-264, where did you find that?

All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2

Thanks a lot, John. That Viscount is a port-over from FSX. Luckily most of the gauges are working in MSFS

Many thanks Andie. I have never been there, but I have seen plenty of great videos of the Duxford air shows on YT

Many thanks Jan. You are one of the very few, who would recognize that Me-264,hahaha. I ported it over from FSX and gave it a less WWII like apearance by changing the tires/rims and the markings. The FSX VC didn't work in MSFS, so I use the one of the FSX B-29, which works fine in MSFS. It flies quite well now and is a lot of fun, especially when you take off, retrieve the undercarriage and see half of it falling down to earth 😉😉

Hi Bernd, glad to hear you're still porting these oldies across. I stopped doing that a while back as I was finding it too frustrating, most of them weren't coming over too well at all. Didn't try this one (it was one of my big collection of such things - had a nice Ju88 and Me/Bf 110 as well), so nice to se it here. What I'd really like to have working for MSFS is the Westland Whirlwind, but the really good one I had would never even work properly in P3D, let alone MSFS. Shame, as it was a really lovely model.

Whirlwind? Like this you mean?

This is a msfs native model by Rob Richardson (with my own paintjob) that he hasn't published yet, but if you send him a mail, he might share it.

Ooohh, oooohh, ooohhh! Thanks for this Jan, I'll try and get hold of him re this. It looks wonderful, as does your paintjob. Having a bit of a Whirlwind revival lately - awaiting a book on the beast as well.

Much appreciated!
