February 8, 20233 yr Hi folks. I need some help from someone who uses this addon. I have downloaded the addon. I use ADDONS LINKER so I have it hooked up to that. No matter how I install it, I get messages in addons linker that say "Could not read the manifest.json file" As far as I can tell, it's installed properly (download zip, unzip, put resulting folder into addons folder controlled by addons linker. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? February 8, 20233 yr My guess- your file structure is wrong. There are folders inside the folder you have placed in your Community folder. You need to cut all those folders out the folder they are in and place them directly in your Community folder. A tip for anyone using any sort of add-on, no matter its source: when you open a folder in your Community folder, you have to see a manifest.json file sitting in there. If you only see another folder or folders, and have to click a second folder to see the manifest.json, that addon will not work. February 8, 20233 yr Author I have tried it putting each contained folder in separately. That did not work either, even though I can see the manifest.json file in each folder. February 8, 20233 yr Sorry, out of ideas then, other than to check your in-sim settings for ship traffic. I believe the recommended setting is 10% in sim. There is a MSFS limit on objects which can be reached if you are running GSX and AI traffic at high settings. Those with Addons Linker will have to chime in here.😉 GregH Intel Core i7 14700K / Palit RTX4070Ti Super OC / Corsair 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz / MSI Z790 M/board / Corsair NVMe 9500 read, 8500 write / Corsair PSU1200W / CH Products Yoke, Pedals & Quad; Airbus Side Stick, Airbus Quadrant / TrackIR, 32” 4K 144hz 1ms Monitor
February 8, 20233 yr Author I seem to have it worked out. Appears to be a problem with the right side of addons linker updating properly for me. It was still listing folders removed from the addons folder even though I had updated the left side of addons linker. Seems to be an addons linker issue for me. February 8, 20233 yr It is not an addons linker issue if you do all the folder manipulation while addons linker is running... besides that, addons linker gives you a hint if you modify the folders while it is running, including a "refresh" button. February 8, 20233 yr Yep sounds like a user issue, if you click Refresh in the top left it will (funnily enough) Refresh the list of mods in the left pane. If you have other mods located directly in your community folder (visible in right pane) then you need to remove or move them to whichever folder structure you use for the tool to work properly.
