February 9, 20233 yr Hi All, I’ve got a simulator test coming up in a Boeing 757 200 sim. I’ve downloaded the Quality wings 757 but the pitch power settings aren’t accurate. In the real aircraft, approx 1.18 EPR and 6 degrees nose up (clean) will give 220 knots. My sim requires 1.26 EPR with 4 degrees nose up to achieve 220 knots. I’ve tried different weights but nothing seems to make any diddference. Can anyone advise or help please? Or suggest a more accurate 757? Thanks Jon
February 9, 20233 yr At the end of the day, the home sim may not capture those items and will not be helpful. The sims are good for going through procedures with repetition. For pitch and power, use the flight manual and look for the section that deals with unreliable airspeed. The manual will give you ball park numbers and you adjust from there. You can even look at different weights to get a base line so that you will have baselines to work from like fuel flows. Fuel flows have always worked great for me. Set it and nudge the throttles for fine tuning. For sim tests, I would focus on the procedures and being very familiar with them. The flying portion will fall in place and you will get what ever you get. Edited February 9, 20233 yr by G550flyer Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
February 10, 20233 yr This also depends on the product. The more expensive study sims tend to perform better in this department.

I used to have their 757 in my FS9 days and it was pretty good although it could not be described as study level. When I moved to FSX, I switched to the QW 757 but I think it is fair to say that, of all the QW aircraft, the 757 is the weakest from a system accuracy viewpoint. I don’t know whether Captain Sim improved the 757 when they developed it for FSX or whether they simply did a port-over of their FS9 version to adapt it for FSX, so I would not want to recommend it unless you find a very good price in a sale as it is fairly expensive. I do have the Captain Sim 777 for FSX but it sits in my virtual boneyard as its system accuracy pales in comparison to the PMDG version which quickly replaced it! Bill
