GSX effect on performance

Featured Replies

Could people share their experience of GSX and the effect it has on performance?

I had it installed and thought I noticed a drop (but it could also be me looking for reasons for a drop in fps). I’ve set it to exclude all the extra clutter at airports.

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo
64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance
32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

I experience a performance hit for sure, but only while GSX is doing something. Since it stops doing anything after pushback and engine start, I do not find the performance reduction troubling at all.

The only time I see a performance drop with this is when I select a gate and all the gear loads in for half a second or when people are boarding or deboarding at hi definition airports but that only happens because I have maximum density of p[assengers set in the GSX settings. That is to say that they all bust out of the plane together. But it's rare I see a noticable drop, even then.

Different rigs mean different results though

5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

I also have a small performance drop during embarkation/disembarkation.
I set the density to dense.
