NASA and SpaceX Hubble reboost.

Featured Replies

Looks like NASA and SapceX are planning to boost the Hubble telescope into a higher orbit and extend its lifespan.

It will involve a SpaceX Dragon capsule, and its first depressurization and space walk.

NASA and SpaceX signed an unfunded Space Act Agreement Thursday, Sept. 22, to study the feasibility of a SpaceX and Polaris Program idea to boost the agency’s Hubble Space Telescope into a higher orbit with the Dragon spacecraft, at no cost to the government.

Very interesting. Even with the James Webb telescope in service, there's still plenty of work for Hubble, no doubt.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Let Hubble scan the rubble, while Webb becomes the inter-galactic web... 🤣

Yep, still a very useful platform. If they can pull this off it will be good news.

Lets see what Dr. Becky has to say.
