Two landings in 2 days-slide show.

I have found that AI traffic of all kinds will do this. Many times, these objects (airport vehicles, walking airport employees, AI traffic of all kinds) will end up loading into the sim in view right as your on final or just about to pre-flare, flare etc. I noticed this happening at much larger airports. Multiplayer as well. You may "see" the other players but their planes won't really appear until you get much closer. I think it might have something to do with it. That's just my experience.

Of course there's TLOD and LOD but that doesn't sound like the problem since yours is right before landing.

I use FSTLT for airliner traffic and use the GA Traffic mod so I can see GA planes around. I turn my IFR traffic (FSLTL) to 30 before take off and usually turn it down as I am getting close to landing.

TLDR: the sim looks good enough so turning down a lot of the settings don't reduce the overall immersion. I don't have some advanced setup either and I run in 4K (TAA reduced to "2k") and FPS locked to 30. I have good results for GA and IFR flights.

I also agree that it's an Asobo server problem and not the large airports.  I say this because I had my first one ever as I was landing in Milford Sound, NZ.  No heavy scenery there, but with the just released WU, there must be a heavy load on the servers.

I was having a similar issue on takeoff and landing after the last update.  I have an older system and don't run AI right now, but she went from a solid 30-40 fps performer to stuttering and occasionally freezing.  Someone posted that they had resolved similar issues by making some minor changes in traffic settings.  They had posted this in a before ---->after mode:

 Traffic Settings
- Traffic Type:  AI Offline   ----> OFF when using FSLTL or REAL-TIME ONLINE
- AI Aircraft Density:  0
- Vehicle Density:  44     ----> 5
- Gnd Aircraft Density:  60 ----> 0
- Worker Density:  50 -----> 15
- Boats/Road Vehicles/Ships:  50 -----> 0 / 10 / 30
- Fauna: 100 (will definitely turn this down to zero after posting this) ----> 30
- Generic Models:  On for AI, Off for Multi
- Traffic Variety:  Ultra

I tried most of these and voila! - I was back to normal and smooth.  Fingers crossed for now.
