October 13, 20241 yr No fancy videos - just working on getting to know the Mach loop and RAF Valley EGOV. As a challenge have tried a number of different aircraft - Really would love a Hawker Hunter. Weather at EGOV is shall we say - routinely poor! Wet low cloud showers sweeping in from the Irish Sea you have to traverse a spit before the start of the Loop which is always interesting and without a map display or visible GPS Plan track a lot of hard work which drags up the limitations of the scenery in XP12 no Ortho so standard is not that great sort of accurate but well in places unconvincing. For a laugh or a jolly sedately flew the Loop with a South Entrance in the de Havilland DHC 4 Caribou. AP kept it at 500 AGL and trundled around at 150 kts. EGOV is strange aerodrome and tricky to get around due its curiuous layout of runways and taxiways - has an ILS on RWY 13 but no NDB so you got to do it with GPS. Not sure if ORBX UK South would make it work better do not know. Maybe go and try it in the Tiger Moth - think there is a good Folland Gnat in the hangar - that could be fun.

Orbx GB is on my shopping list for the next time I do some mach loop fun, plan to take the 744 supertanker around it, flying in somewhere from europe and then landing at John Lennon after - like to get replaying the flight surfaces working first. Currently working hard on the ATC and ACARS stuff for it. AutoATC Developer
