[BUG] [CRASH] MSFS crashes when enabling datas

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I have encountered a bew for a few times already when trying to activate datas.

First, MSFS keeps disconnecting datas for no reason (no internet disconnection, 1GB/s fiber...). When trying to reconnect datas from general settings, MSFS instantly crashes.

If anyone shares the same problem, I'd like to know if you have some feedback.
Thanks.

Yes, I had exactly the same problem yesterday, twice. I also have 1Gb internet, with no loss of connection. I was flying over the same area of western France both times - I thought maybe there was a problem with the scenery in that specific region.

I flew LMML-EGPF on 23FEB23 and upon arrival into Glasgow, the sim went offline and online for a couple times and finally CTDed.

Had shut down my PC then and on the next day, I wanted to start the sim but then I received an error, that msfs.exe (?? dont know what it's called exactly) can't be found anymore.

Checked my apps on the PC and it showed Microsoft Flight Simulator with a size of approx 116GB or so. I think at this point, the community folder was still there...

At "Apps and features" I hit MSFS -> advanced options -> repair. Didn't change anything, the .exe could still not be found.

Then I hit "reset" and the whole sim was wiped including the community folder.

It was a pita to uninstall the sim and re-install it again.

Thanks to the addon-linker I use since my massive sim wipe on 31JAN, after which I had to invest about 10 hrs to get the sim back running, I at least haven't lost my 165GB community folder this time and "just" had to set MSFS graphic etc options again. This time, I've screenshotted them to be even quicker the next time the sim shows unexpected behaviour 🤪

Not sure but guessing its due to bad weather data.  Happened to me the other day with extreme weather conditions in the Western USA.

This "Lost connection" problem has to be the single most annoying bug in MSFS, causing no end of grief for so many users. I can't understand why it isn't No.1 priority on the fix list (despite several polls).
