So true, PMDG stopped innovating 15 years ago. Why didn't they include a feature to print your ACARS messages? Why no good onboard pushback tool? Why haven't they included this mod (https://flightsim.to/addon/109930/lido-charts-for-pmdg-efbs) by default? In fact, they've even removed features like the one to use keyboard input for their FMC. Fenix is so much more innovative and seemling caring about their customers and fans and not treating them like sht. A german youtuber and PMDG beta tester (who used to fly 737s in R/L and is currently flying A330s) said Fenix is doing it wrong from a business perspective to give free updates for updates from FS20 to FS24. This only had the effect that not only the A320 is on my wishlist, as soon as the panel state saving feature is released, but I'll get the whole A319, A320 and A321 lineup instead. Fenix' strategic approach to such things are in fact better from a long term business perspective.

Well, I can only speak for Austrian Airlines over here in Europe, they were doing a lot of 20-60 Minute hops with the Fokkers back in the days. Routes, which are more like trainline nowadays 😀

Lovely real life destination and always love the approaches into greek airports in the sim. However, there's very little ATC scheduling in the LGGG FIR on VATSIM, making it difficult to plan flights to Greece: https://statsim.net/atc/table Think I'll skip LGZA as I've already got troubles to catch ATC when flying to LGAV, LGMK and LGHI.

I wonder if it's possible to keep old airline liveries like the "AIGAIM_Eurowings Airbus A320-200 - Air Berlin", which I use for BER model matching and just adding new liveries? I guess, when re-installing EWG, this old livery is gone when no longer in use?

The extremely busy period continues here at Just Flight, and we are excited to share with you a new update on our upcoming F70 Professional and F100 Professional. Winding the clock back to March, members of our team travelled to FS Weekend in Lelystad, where it was an honour to be able to show off our renditions of two icons of the Dutch aviation industry. Being surrounded by so many like-minded enthusiasts – many of whom have personal connections to these aircraft that were built in their home country – made the event especially memorable. We do hope that everyone who stopped by our booth for a hands-on experience with the F70 and F100 left feeling very positive about what was to come! Whilst in the Netherlands, we also couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit several real world examples of the aircraft that are accessible to the public (there is no such thing as too much reference material!). Since FS Weekend, we’ve been relatively quiet on the public-facing front, with all hands now on deck to focus on bringing both versions to conclusion in a timely manner, and most importantly of course to the high standards you’ve come to expect from Just Flight at release. As we move closer to release (yes, we have a tentative release window set internally – no, we’re not quite ready to share that yet…), parts of our development team are beginning to make the shift from extensive testing and development, to completing the remaining work on the Operations and EFB manuals, support page FAQs, and a selection of pre-release videos that show off the product’s vast feature set in detail. All of this content will indeed be available ahead of release. With the level of dedication and passion we have invested in these products, we are extremely confident that they will represent our very best work to date. On the systems coding side, a new beta build was supplied to our testing team within the last week. This beta build marks the start of the final testing phase and is the first build to include our fully re-coded AFCAS Profile logic. The aircraft can be flown in Profile mode from 35ft after takeoff, all the way down to approach minimums, while correctly respecting any altitude and speed constraints, and maintaining minimal deviation from the computed vertical profile. If a descent path is too steep, or if a discontinuity exists in the flight plan, alerts will also be generated on the PFD and CDU. Our testers are currently busy flying the aircraft on a wide range of routes, and in the nicest possible way, trying to break it in as many ways as possible. At the same time, our development team continues to work through feedback received from this latest build. While the vast majority of the feedback has been incredibly positive, it's fair to say that there is also further bug fixing and extra polishing still required ahead of release, hence why we’re not quite at the point of being in a position to announce a specific release date. To give an example of the type of work that is currently ongoing, we’ve just completed a mini-overhaul of the braking system. Braking effectiveness for both manual braking and the autobrake systems has been fine tuned based on figures quoted in the real aircraft’s documentation, along with the figures provided by the Performance Calculator located on the EFB. These changes also necessitated some changes to the brake temperature logic, which has now also been improved to more accurately simulate the heat generated during braking. In addition, we have also recently completed work on the systems tests, which, when you're in a position to do so, we encourage you to try when running through the aircraft’s pre-flight checklists. As you may have noticed in previous screenshots, the cockpit artwork has also received significant attention in recent months. Alongside a full ambient occlusion re-bake, colour corrections have been applied across the entire cockpit - most noticeably on the FMP knobs, which have taken on a slightly yellowed appearance over time due to UV exposure. Additional dirt has been added to buttons based on newly sourced reference imagery, and a light amount of dust is also now present on selected panels. Those familiar with Just Flight products will know that clean, fresh out of the factory aircraft just aren’t our thing, and we much prefer to depict an aircraft that has been a workhorse for the airlines it served. Continuing on the artwork front, our livery artist has also been hard at work producing custom cabin textures for each F70 and F100 livery that will be available to download at the time of release (more news on that soon…). In total, over 25 unique cabins have been created, offering a good variety of classic and modern cabin designs. Combined with the advanced galley simulation, fully interactable doors, Auto Cabin Crew logic, and Digital Music Player with announcements and music modes, these bespoke cabin texture help make the cabin a very immersive place to be. Hopefully this update has offered an insightful look behind the scenes into what is a relatively small segment of the ongoing work on the F70 Professional and F100 Professional. To be fair, didn't pay much attention what makes me seeing ships in MSFS2024, just thought those were from GAIST. I can only report that I see some when approaching airports on shore but good to know that these could be from in-sim too!

Looking forward to their panel state saving feature even more. Haven't bought the Fenix Busses yet, still waiting for that feature to be implemented as it's mandatory for my type of airliner OPS simulation. When they've eventually released it, I'll just get the whole A320 family despite only having a real need for the A320-200 variant, just because PMDG sales youtuber A330 Driver once said in some comment, that he thinks Fenix is doing wrong from a revenue perspective by giving free updates. I think the Fenix guys are doing it just right and this creates a way higher revenue long term.

Is this the case on your side? Toolbar Pushback performs automated, pre-planned pushbacks without any issues in ms FS24.

Fair hint, was going to point out to IVAO too. I've been an IVAO member for my first online flying years but switched to VATSIM about 10 years ago. What keeps me on VATSIM and not wanting to go back to IVAO is the fact that it feels like too many people are online on IVAO not to have contact to other humans, but rather just collect hours and badges and sht. You don't get such things on VATSIM. On IVAO, I've seen people being online constantly and trying to get as many awards and badges as they possibly can. Have seen pilots with 1000s of hours but were unable to fly a simple heading, maintain an altitude and ruining everyone elses experience. Among ATCs, "world tour" pilots were feared and infamous because the majority of them were lacking those very basic skills. When in the process of finding a new world tour by the WT department of IVAO, everyone hoped that no airport in your FIR got selected. Even had ATC colleagues logging off prior a bunch of WT pilots entering your sector. Some find that entertaining but it's just not my type of online flying and not my type of experience I want to get, therefore, VATSIM fits perfectly to my needs.

Planning flights with a maximum of possible ATC coverage is fairly easy in europe as almost all FIRs use the VATSIM booking system. It just misses the point of flying online on VATSIM when there's a high risk of ending up alone on 122.8 upon arrival. Would love to take A350s, and 757s around the world but I have absolutely 0 intention to buy an addon aircraft too big for smaller european airports as there's just no motivation to plan a LR flight, take the 10-12hr journey just to be completely alone at destination.

Tried LOW on a windy day into EKVG Vagar with a 30G45 crosswind and the 737 went down the glide like on rails.

"Free" in terms of "no additional cost to the original sim": many of the handcrafted World Update airports are good freeware quality. Just install them and keep the ones you like.

Meanwhile, I've noticed this bug at a few more airports too (29 Palms EDDB, MSFS WU EDJA and EDVK). Couldn't find a bug report in the MSFS forums yet so I decided to open a new topic. I've noticed in Central Europe, snow is much more realistic. In MSFS2020, you've had basically a 100km blob which only knew "1m snow coverage" or "no snow" resulting in snow covered valleys and in the next part, you've had no snow at all even on 3000m high peaks. In MSFS2024, it's a much finer grid and also somehow shows mountain tops covered in snow, while valleys are blank. Haven't proved it with evidence, but snow coverage feels pretty accurate.

Also comes in super handy when you're in another room, doing the laundry, cleaning your car or are afk for any other reason. Vatsim-Radar works perfectly fine on mobile too and helps to get back in time when you're about to cross someone's route at the same level or when you're about to enter controlled airspace.

Like, I've got 50 payware airports and I'd love to get a notification in Firefox whenever an ATC responsible for one of those airports comes online. Like for LOWW: whenever LOWW_APP, LOVV_CTR, LOVV_N_CTR comes online but not LOVV_B_CTR as it's not covering LOWW. Simpler version: to user define every ATC station individually, like when I have to type in all the individual stations I want to get a notification of. I'd consider trying to gather all VATSIM booking platforms at the same place. The current vatsim-radar booking only shows the ones that are on statsim too. Would be a huge benefit to not have to look like at cts.vatsim.uk/bookings/calendar.php, statsim, and some individual FIRs or ARTCCs separately. A centralised ATC booking platform is what VATSIM is missing and VATSIM radar could help in that regard I think. I really love this guy's work. A proper map was the only thing VATSIM was behind IVAO for years but vatsim radar is such a great tool I couldn't live without anymore.
