March 2Mar 2 What's the best setting in 2024? With a realistic setting, I'm getting some realistic turbulence, but sometimes I feel is too much. MSFS
March 3Mar 3 I think I use the lowest setting | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 3Mar 3 I use Medium which generates the occasional bump. Realistic is not realistic. I used RealTurb until I had some wild oscillations in the 2024 version of the PMDG 737 after release. Typing this, there have been a couple of patches from PMDG so I think I'll try again. FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb 9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps
March 3Mar 3 I've used medium for a long time but have been using realistic of late. Flying GA aircraft I think realistic is a bit aggressive but medium doesn't feel at all realistic. I wish ASOBO could introduce a slider so we could select something in between. I don't fly tubeliners much, but I would imagine that realistic would be a lot more realistic for that type of flying. March 3Mar 3 Author In 2020 I used LOW. It looks like in 2024, it depends on the airplane we fly. I tested medium and it's feeling good right now. Still testing. There's no doubt that the turbulence in 2024 is far superior than it was in 2020. Thanks for your input. MSFS
March 3Mar 3 I'm also on medium settings, which seems like the most accurate with RealTurb. However, I still don't understand. Yesterday, I was flying from Nantes to Lanzarote and was supposed to be passing through a large area of turbulence according to Navigraph, but the flight was incredibly calm. Turbulence is rare in MSFS; if it is, it only lasts 5 to 10 seconds and then stops... There aren't really any turbulence zones... It would be great to be able to anticipate them using Navigraph. March 3Mar 3 I use realistic, but still don’t seem to get many bumps in airliners. Same for me, as medium seems to be similar to what low gave me in 2020 for GA aircraft. Not perfect, given the settings available. For less than airliner sized aircraft it's the closest I can get . 3 hours ago, cianpars said: I wish ASOBO could introduce a slider so we could select something in between. Agreed. "Realistic" is still too aggressive, while medium is still a bit more passive than what I expect. Something in between would sure be nice and a slider would be ideal. March 3Mar 3 Tried LOW on a windy day into EKVG Vagar with a 30G45 crosswind and the 737 went down the glide like on rails.
