  1. Nice find! Will get EDDN, EBBR, LGAV, LFPO, LEAS, EGHI, ENML, LEZL, EINN today. LGSK and LIEO were also on my wishlist as those airports are looking really really good, but ORBX is not willing to add an option to disable static aircraft or make it possible to rename some "static_acft.bgl" to .bak to disable static aircraft, so I won't spend my money on airports I can't use 😄
  2. This is the question I wonder about every single time I use flightsim.to. First I thought this was a website that hosts payware stuff illegally because of the .to TLD. It took me a while to realise this is like AVSIM library but much much better.
  3. Drzewiecki Design is having a -30% sale on all addons until 2300z today (15 hrs left). https://orbxdirect.com/partner/drzewiecki-design https://secure.simmarket.com/drzewiecki-design.mhtml
  4. 1) Starting the following programs all at once: Firefox, MSFS, VAT-Spy, PFPX, vPilot, FSGRW (P3D V4 edition), Qutescoop and a massive Excel file too. 2) In Firefox, I've got a folder that contains all necessary bookmarks I need for flight planning: https://www.eurofpl.eu/finder# https://skyvector.com/ https://www.meteoblue.com/de/wetter/maps/salzburg_Österreich_2766824#coords=4.03/47.32/14.22&map=snowDepth~hourly~auto~sfc~none https://www.windy.com/ https://simaware.ca/ https://statsim.net/atc/?tables=true https://my.vatsim.net/pilots/flightplan https://aviationweather.gov/metar/data?ids=EBBR+EDDC+EDDE+EDDG+EDDH+EDDL+EDDP+EDDS+EDDV+EDHL+EDJA+EDLP+EDVK+EDXW+EFHK+EFKT+EFVA+EGAC+EGFF+EGGP+EGKK+EGNJ+EGNX+EGPF+EGPH+EGSS+EHRD+EIKY+EKRN+EKVG+ELLX+ENBO+ENBR+ENGM+ENSB+ENZV+EPBY+EPGD+EPLB+EPMO+EPPO+EPSC+EPSY+EPZG+ESSA+EVRA+LCLK+LEBB+LEBG+LECO+LELN+LEPA+LERS+LEST+LEVC+LEVX+LEZL+LFBZ+LFKF+LFMN+LFMP+LFMT+LFQQ+LFSB+LGIR+LGRP+LGSR+LIBP+LICB+LICC+LICJ+LIMJ+LIPB+LIPE+LIPR+LIPZ+LJLJ+LKTB+LMML+LOWK+LOWL+LOWS+LPFR+LPPD+LSZA+LSZH+LSZR+LSZS+LTAI+LZIB+UKBB+UKLL+UKOO&format=raw&date=&hours=0 3) I use google calendar, qutescoop and statsim to visualise where there's gonna be ATC today: Some of the sheets from my flightplan schedule excel: According to this information, I plan my flight with CFMU valid routes from eurofpl using PFPX. I generally plan flights in order to have at least either on DEP or on the ARR airport VATSIM ATC coverage (best ofc is both DEP and ARR coverage).
  5. I flew LMML-EGPF on 23FEB23 and upon arrival into Glasgow, the sim went offline and online for a couple times and finally CTDed. Had shut down my PC then and on the next day, I wanted to start the sim but then I received an error, that msfs.exe (?? dont know what it's called exactly) can't be found anymore. Checked my apps on the PC and it showed Microsoft Flight Simulator with a size of approx 116GB or so. I think at this point, the community folder was still there... At "Apps and features" I hit MSFS -> advanced options -> repair. Didn't change anything, the .exe could still not be found. Then I hit "reset" and the whole sim was wiped including the community folder. It was a pita to uninstall the sim and re-install it again. Thanks to the addon-linker I use since my massive sim wipe on 31JAN, after which I had to invest about 10 hrs to get the sim back running, I at least haven't lost my 165GB community folder this time and "just" had to set MSFS graphic etc options again. This time, I've screenshotted them to be even quicker the next time the sim shows unexpected behaviour 🤪
  6. In the 737, you can set BARO minimums (minimums set to the barometric altitude, which can be a really high value) and RADIO minimums (height above ground). I think, setting radio minimums is really quick, 'cause for ILS and RNP approaches, decision height is almost always something between 50 and 300ft or so. When flying visual approaches, you don't need to set minimums, 'cause you only continue approach if you continuously see the RWY you want to land on. In the 737, you can turn knobs faster if you 1.) left click a knob 2.) hold left mouse and 3.) move the mouse to the left to decrease values or 4.) move the mouse to the right to increase values. I use this technique to set BARO minimums (if i rarely need a high value) and to set frequencies on the radio panel. 8 1/3 kHz spacing can be a pita in that regard 😅
  7. @pyreegue is having a -40% sale on https://orbxdirect.com/partner/pyreegue-dev-co right now until 02MAR23 23:50z! I've got all of his sceneries for MSFS except LYTV and all of them are among the best sceneries I've ever had. Happy 4th anniversary to Viacheslav, Slava Ukraini!
  8. Seems a 100% of what I need! Thanks, I'll use the addon linker from now on since I haven't got the time for another possible giant re-download and re-install in the future. 😅 I had hoped the times of complete reinstalls had been gone with FSX and P3D.
  9. It probably says "update" 'cause I've tried windows system recovery after the complete wipe. MSFS came back (latest version 1.30.12.0) and I could start the application again, but I guess it came back completely naked without anything, thus the 108GB update.
  10. I've added a link to the community folder in the quick access toolbar to get to it with a single click. Does choosing a different path for the community folder prevent it from being deleted in the future? If yes, I'll consider moving it somewhere else. "didn't have to leave the beta, left everything as before." When you don't actively leave beta, are you automatically in for the next beta? Or does a MSFS beta programme always end for everyone after the stable version was released and you have to opt-in again if you still want to be part of it in the future?
  11. Alright ok, thanks. I was afraid that I'm not able to understand what I should do. I'm doing a regular backup of all my important documents on my PC (docs about banks, stocks, taxes, etc). Quickly grabbed my external SSD to just copy back my community folder I had thought I saved couple months ago (better than nothing) but then I realised I haven't got a backup of it 😐 Will do one every month now, and everyone else should do so too. Better to invest 15 minutes per month for a planned routine that to spend 15 hrs to set everything back up again.
  12. I've understood that, but I fail to understand how I can make this update to be only 600MB big, when there are none of those folders anymore that have existed before? "Just change it to where your MSFS installation really is and it will only be about 600MB. "
  13. My MSFS was at this default installation path. I can't change it to where my MSFS installation really is, cause it all got uninstalled and deleted completely. I suddenly had 200/300-ish GB more free space on my SSD. I can not choose a different installation path, because I had MSFS installed under this path previously and it was all gone: Everything highlighted in red did not exist anymore. It was just AppData\Local\Packages with no "Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8we....." folder in it. I understand that I should select "packages", right? Couldn't select packages, as it was missing after the failed update. What do you mean by "Just change it to where your MSFS installation really is"? You mean the community folder "packages" parent directory? Didn't exist. Or something else? I'm really having a hard time either to understand what is meant by "where your MSFS installation really is", or to express, that there's no folder to point at. (Screenshot was taken right now as MSFS is doing its 108GB update and has created a new community folder already. It did not exist anymore until a new one was created just minutes ago). Right. There was no community folder anymore and no parent folders too. I don't understand where I should MSFS point at to prevent this 108GB update from happen.
  14. Thanks, just downloading! I thought I'll never need a linker... until today.
  15. And before someone mentiones that I should have moved my c folder before updating: I was on 1.30.12.0 for two weeks or so and today, 1.30.12.0 was released for all users not participating in the beta. So I thought 1.30.12.0=1.30.12.0 and there won't be an update at all. I was kinda surprised when MSFS started to DL 2,4GB and made an update I didn't took into consideration. I decided to not move my c folder while the update was running. Lessions learned: 1.) for every little update, always move the community folder to a safe space. 2.) save c folder on a regular basis to an external SSD. 3.) never ever jump on a beta ever again. 4.) practice patience. I've waited four whole years to spend a single cent on new addons from the point when we knew MSFS was coming in 2020 and now I couldn't have waited a month for the snow coverage fix to be released on stable? 😂
  16. I would do so if I still had my community folder...
  17. The nightmare continues: MSFS wants me to download 108GB.
  18. Ok, I've been able to restore my PC in the status of last week. MSFS is on the PC again but the community folder is still missing 😲😭😭 Any tip how I can get it back instead of spending 50h of downloading and installing everything again from scratch? I've got no "...\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\..." folder anymore 😞
  19. Ok, I've opted out of the MSFS beta program accoring to the description in the forum: Open the ‘Xbox Insider Hub’ app. Navigate to ‘Previews’ > ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator Beta’ . Select ‘Manage’. On the left side, select ‘Leave preview’. Wait for the unenrollment to complete, restart your Xbox or PC, then launch the game. Restarted the PC, opened MSFS, prompting an update of 2,4GB is necessary, downloaded the update. I was wondering why it called for an update, when I already had 1.30.12.0.??? When 2,4 of 2,4 GB were downloaded, the same window showed an error and now my whole MSFS installation is missing. Deleted. Without a warning. Plus the community folder with 1, 2, 300+GB of addons in it. 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 People were nah yeah get the beta, nothing will go wrong. Guess I'm too stupid for this 😂 I think I've already mentioned that I hate beta programs and updates.
  20. I had the beta and all snow was gone on all airport surfaces as supposed to. However, it turned out to be incompatible with some airports like EGPH and EGPF or BMW's LZTT Poprad: Can anyone confirm those airports are fine with snow and the stable version now? I've reached out to Pyreegue couple weeks ago, he said he'll look into it. 🙂
  21. I've just joined MSFS beta just because of the snow coverage fix on the airports. How to leave beta? Can I now just leave the beta programme and my sim version just remains on 1.30.12.0? Or should I do nothing to not get any beta updates in the future? I've read somewhere that a beta ends with every major update for the sim and I would have to opt-in again if I wanted to keep the beta?
  22. It takes me half of that time to completely setup the 737 FMC when I've saved the route in the PMDG .rte database via PFPX route export function. Regarding V-Speeds: you don't need to calculate them, just click 1R, 2R, 3R to enter them automatically. With one exception: V1 is wrong. Out of Lugano (to be fair on the very edge of what is possible in terms of short runways for departure), FMC gave me V1 133kt, VR 136kt and V2 at 147kt. If I had to abort t/o close to V1, I'd have came to a stop a kilometer after the RWY end 😂
  23. Last year, I took the chance to have a look into an Air Baltic A220 cockpit and got a brief tour of it. The huge navigation display was the thing that impressed me the most... when you're in Salzburg, center the ND to your current position and set range to max. You've got almost all of Europe on it, all the way from the Baltics to the Canaries. Really impressive, can't wait to try the A220 in the sim.
  24. Must be an extraction error by me then. I've downloaded updated versions of EKVG and EDDE couple weeks ago and most likely messed it up at that point. Thanks for your hint!
  25. I actually don't click much in the cockpit, I've got a keyboard binding for everything possible and I always set parking brakes per keyboard as I don't have to look around in the cockpit. I bought the 737 in November or so and since then it worked like this for me: 1) hold brake pedals down 2) press "." once -> parking brakes are set. 3) release brake pedals Then, around new year, PMDG pushed an update. Since this update, the parking brake didn't engage anymore by pressing ".", but I had to hold "." on my keyboard for two seconds or so to be set. 1) hold brake pedals down 2) keep pressing "." -> parking brakes are set. 3) release brake pedals After the recent update, it works again by just hitting the "point" key once as it did when I bought it and I think as it is supposed to. Have I already mentioned I hate updates? 😉 There's always something going wrong and I hate surprises in that regard...
