BlueBird 757 enters beta testing, release probably in 2026

"Probably in 2026" because it can very well slide into 2027.

More on a serious note, it's ok. We have many examples of how rushing can undermine very good products.

Really looking forward to this but also very happy to wait for it to be done well.  Nice to see it’s definitely not being rushed!

Good.  I've been on various beta teams in the last 20 years and it can take months or even over a year to beta test a complex project.

I love what they are building, but by then I hope they bring it out for 2024 and not just 2020. I’d be surprised if by the end of next year Asobo isn’t already pitching MSFS 2028!

If it enters beta testing now, that would be one long beta test, if it's released in 2027. That's like 1.3 years of beta testing.  I think this would be a record beta test for an add-on, if it took 1.3 years to beta test it.

Has there been any 3rd party aircraft add-on in the history of flight simulation that took 1.3 years to beta test? Does anybody know, I am genuinely curious.

A tiny amount of the general public is privvy to the beta testing of products and I doubt many beta testers are going to divulge the periods due to some NDA or another. Not to mention the varied definitions behind beta testing. Each company has their own idea of when that phased is reached. To me it means product completeness and now bugfixing but as we can see with BB they don't necessarily follow that definition.

Anyway no point speculating, I really doubt it'd be another year before release but I don't mind being wrong.

They must be a real small team to take so long nevertheless. Anyway, the 767 is closer and closer, hopefully it'll take much less time to complete.

BlueBird has said the 757 should release before GTA 6.  GTA 6 is being released on May 26th, 2026.  Assuming a worse case scenario and BlueBird can't release their 757 before GTA 6, I would be very surprised if they took the remainder of 2027 to release their 757.

I'm thinking in the worst of worst case scenarios, if BlueBird end up releasing their 757 after GTA 6, that they may take a few more months after GTA 6 releases, to get the 757 out, but it's still released in 2026. But if they released it in 2027, that would be an epic beta test period, and they totally missed when they claimed they could release it before GTA 6 🤣.

Heh? it releases when it releases. 757's are special (NOT) these days anyways.

757s are special to plenty of flight simmers. The ones who could not care less that they are being phased out of real world service.

Unless Maybe in 2026 means possibly in 2025 which obviously isn't the case then releasing for 2020 in 2027 seems almost pointless...  They have really left themselves in a bit of a pickle here with their pace of development.  I appreciate taking the time to get it right but there is also taking so much time you miss the opportunity.   A 2020 only release scheduled for 2027 would be missing the opportunity...
