March 9, 20233 yr As I delve back into the world of simming again, looking to replace the joystick for a better all over experience. I have read about ongoing quality issues with the logitech g x56 hotas, but that's the kind of setup I think I'd like to go for. Is anyone using the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog? I know it's expensive and looks like it would take some time to set up, let alone save up for!! Prefer to keep the joystick approach as I will load my old MS Combat FS's at a later date. Thanks!
March 9, 20233 yr I have a Warthog and it's a really good, heavy-duty HOTAS system...Hall Effect sensors on pitch/roll and both throttle axes, switches galore. It is heavy, and the stick action is also fairly stiff. If you're prone to making a lot of aggressive, fast moves, it might be worth looking at other options like the VKB or Virpil sticks, as the Warthog action is a bit heavy for making a lot of twitchy inputs more common in shooter games than flight simulation. On the inexpensive end, the Thrustmaster T16000M is a decent $60 stick with Hall Effect sensors on the pitch/roll axes. March 10, 20233 yr If you want to go Hotas, tthe Warthog looks like a good option. If you only want a joystick, try the VKB Gladiator NXT.
