April 8, 20233 yr It's happened a few times now and I'm getting CTD just as the Baron starts to sniff the ILS, at least this is what I'm assuming. I get to within 15-20 miles of the runway and CTD ! (bloody annoying). I have the TDS GTN 750 included in my configuration. The NAV1 is already tuned. Peculiarly it does not happen on a RNAV approach. Anyone got any ideas ?

April 9, 20233 yr Author "What airport and which exact approach? " There were a couple in Belgium in IMC conditions (can't remember which ones) and more recently at St Athans in South Wales. But know I think of it, there is some issue (?) with its designation EGSY in its civilian form and EGDX as a military airbase I'll check it out again.
April 9, 20233 yr Author Ah. There doesn't seem to be a LOC signal or ILS transmitting at EGSY. I then used the ASOBO Baron and that will fly the "ILS" approach without there being an actual transmitted signal. Is this an undocumented feature of MSFS ? Are there airfields missing this ILS facility ??

But MSFS still is missing a few real world ILS stations, like in your example at EGSY/EGDX. I assume this could be due to its 2 different ICAO names for the same airport. EGSY does have an ILS according to the Jeppesen charts for rwy 25 on 111.150 MHz and LittleNavMap shows that correctly, but MSFS somehow does not. Have to check Navigraph if they have it. You can check in MSFS if an airport has an ILS in the world map if you have "Show Navaids" activated.
