"just" using the view angle and lateral offsets you can

What is "probably" best is to run to copies of XP, one for the front view, and another for the two window views, that will give you the best FPS and flexibility to line up the side views

example config for that looks like its here

should be the same for XP12

Interesting. I want to hide the window frames and instrument panel, keep the glass and plane exterior. Basically the surface of the monitor is the surface of the cockpit windows, if that makes any sense.

Hi,

I just tried something real quick to see if it will work. I may have taken too much off the top. hahaha. I think this is what you want, but with the front cowl section visable. If this is the case, you'll just have to edit the acf file. Just remove the items you don't want. If you have panels you don't want make them invisible.

Thanks, Mike! I’ll monkey around with that file. Much appreciated!

I think the only issue you're going to run into is when you remove the gauges, there's nothing behind the panel except a spinning prop.

I think you'd get the best views using Sparks center view and the edited .acf file in the left/right displays, but that would require networking two additional computers.

If your PC has enough upmf/decent number of cores you can run 2 or 3 copies of XP on the same machine.

Hi,

I just tried this real quick just to see what would happen. Here is the front and side views. I think this is what you're looking for out the windows of your deck.

Hi,

Now if you don't know anything about editing files and want a very dirty way of pulling this off. Note: X-Plane will give you an error during loading, but the aircraft works just fine.

1. Find the Cessna 172SP in XP12's aircraft sub directory.

2. Remove any file that has cockpit in it.

3. Remove 3D cockpit folder.

4. Go into the objects sub folder of the 172sp and remove all cockpit files.

5. Load Xplane and move into the position you want and save it.

This is a VERY Down and Dirty way of doing this!!! If you want to remove the errors during startup, you'll have to edit the Cessna_172.acf file and remove all cockpit entries. If you're good with paint programs, you could also make the panels invisible instead of removing them.

If you don't mind spending time working on files, you could remove the entries until the flightdeck is empty. A much better way of doing this.

It is a rare pleasure to run into a "can do" attitude like this. Welcome to xplane and good luck, have fun.
