Question about MSFS2020

In fact, most people recommended new users to get the Steam version of MSFS instead of the Store version, because there were just too much install or update issues with the Store version, and these problems never occurred with the Steam version.

Those who for their own local reasons cannot install FSX disk edition are often given the same advice, when in fact
it would be better to fix the FSX installer.
Buying a Steam Edition of either FSX or MSFS is just a coverall fix, just like formatting a system disk and making a
fresh installation of Windows is.
Time and effort would be better spent on finding the problem and then taking steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
Local errors can happen to Steam Editions too. 😏

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to this discussion.

During our long layover in Shenzen, one of our pilots purchased a new laptop. He was curious about which MSFS would be better and had concerns about the impact of background processes on performance, which was mentioned in this forum. Your informative responses were greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

The MS Store version of MSFS was very problematic until a few months ago

NEVER has been problematic for me which includes since initial launch, and with the initial install and 2 complete reinstalls.

Hey thanks for the update and the context! So cool to know that real airline pilots (long layover = commercial airline, i'm guessing) are discussing MSFS just like non-pilots like me 🙂

It's true that some of us airline pilots are also enthusiasts of this wonderful hobby.
