May 9, 20233 yr I got this (every few seconds a pause of about half e second or so) last week. Tried all the usual things, turning off graphic options, offline mode etc. Test in some very remote Alaska area. Then I thought- what did I change. I switched on my XBOX controller! (I uses it sometimes to move the view in outside view, and for nothing else) Switched off XBOX controller and just to be sure also my Bluetooth connection in Windows 11 settings et voila: Pauses are gone! So just an extra option to check when in stutter/pause trouble. Sorry I didn't answer this before because it didn't have anything to say other than everything was fine. But I was doing some trouble shooting today and left it running by accident. Clearly I needed to run the program longer than a few minutes! It does point to a BIOS or CPU throttle management issue but I have no reason to believe it is the latter. I mean, the aircraft is sitting on the ground doing nothing in the middle of the Australian desert, otherwise know as the GAFA or the Great Australian, Word not allowed, All. (My apologies to lonely and isolated citizens of Manangatang / YMAG!!) If my i7 CPU can't handle the heat in Managatang, then it wont last long in any airport of significance. Still, I wont rule it out. What is your analysis of this Waldo? Audio Driver needs updating? We are all so focused on MSFS visuals and FPS yet I do hear people complain about sounds and just pass it off as a poor sound pack from the developer. But perhaps there is more to these sound issues than meets the eye? (see what I did there?) Maybe MSFS does have an audio issue that causes micro stutters. If so, chances are I didn't read that particular thread!! My bad😒. Thoughts? No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower! May 11, 20233 yr Well MSFS sure does something to audio hardware?interupts? I had bought a bluetooth headset for use in VR, but as soon as I started VR (G2) it allways switched off my BT headset and I could not switch it on again. And I had not set up this headset in MSFS of course (use it for music, Discord or Teamspeak). Also: as soon as I switch on my VR G2, I have a pause in the sound from the onboard soundcard (which is set in MSFS but the G2 is not setup as anything in the sim). And I always have to restart Discord too then, because my mic doesnt work. It works fine after restarting Discord. Maybe MSFS does have an audio issue that causes micro stutters. In my optimizations efforts 12/2022 I discovered a micro stutter associated w/ ATC and learned assigning audio.exe (and every other assignable process) off of MSFS main thread eliminated this issue for me and I have the CapFrameX recording to substantiate that there are no micro stutters. I use the current RealTek driver as well for the onboard chip.
