FPS Ground to a halt. (1-2 FPS)

Featured Replies

Two days ago,  shortly after departing on an EGLL-LTFM flight with the Fenix, my FPS suddenly dropped to 1-2FPS.  Closed out the sim, restarted.  1-2FPS again with the GPU load at 100%.

Tried the following:

  • Empty Community folder
  • Resinstalled Nvidia Drivers (left everything vanilla in NCP
  • Emptied Nvidia DX Cache and DL Cache folders
  • Restarted MSFS.  Same story.  1-2 FPS - 100% GPU load

Then I ran a GPU stress test using MSI Kombuster in 4K.  That seemed fine.  64FPS

Two days later, had some time to fly this morning.  But same issue.

Specs:

CPU: i7 9700K

16GB RAM

3080Ti GTX

Nothing else maxing out in task manager

Any ideas?  Stopping short of reinstalling MSFS for now

Cheers

I'd start by installing older drivers, not newest ones, to see if that makes any differences.

When my fps tanks for no apparent reason. I delete and rebuild my rolling cache. Hope your issue is as easy solved.

You could also try deleting the useropt.cfg file and start with a clean one.

Issue is resolved.   I switched to DLSS last week - which makes the displays blurry.  So I changed the scaling in the useropt.cfg  to sharpen the displays.  Two days ago changed back to TAA as I didn't like the performance hit - but forgot to change the scaling back to the original numbers.    Once I changed them back...issue solved

Thanks all
