May 23, 20233 yr Really gorgeous shots, Filou. Clarity and lighting are wonderful. Are you focussing on XP 12 with True Earth these days? I had a quick test when it first came out but haven't been back to it much since, but your shots are making me think I ought to spend some time there. I seem to remember the standard TE stuff from XP11 worked just fine. Any other things you'd recommend? Lovely stuff! Particularly like the lighting in the first shot and the crispness in the fourth. Definitely keepers. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Definitely keepers. Thank you andy. What I really like with XP12 is the sharpness and lighting. That makes all the difference! I am now entirely focused on XP12. If the whole planet could look like TrueEarth it would be completely magical, this TrueEarth series is so incredible but we only have a small part to enjoy. So I opted as a second solution all the United States with ortho https://verticalsims.com/vorthos-2/ It takes 1.6 tb. It's not as complete and beautiful as TrueEarth but I feel an incredible pleasure. I also use the little ShadeX software https://www.aerosoft.com/fr/boutique/x-plane/x-plane-11/utilitares/3383/shadex It's a bit like nvidia freestyle for MSFS. This allows you to make subtle sharpness and contrast adjustments for example directly in XP. I also just added Active Sky XP12. I am a happy man to have definitely found what suits me in my definition of reality.

I used to use Forkboy's stuff in XP11 but I will definitely try some of these. Not simming a huge amount right now as I'm in the middle of eye-correction (cataract) surgery and am mid-process, which makes using a screen a bit tiresome as I can't get really good focus on it. Second eye due in a couple of weeks and a couple more weeks after that I can get some glasses made up for close work like screens etc and then I'll get back in to it all. Appreciate the info though. I have a lot of aircraft for XP that hopefully will still work in XP12, and even in my initial very basic tests I found all my So-Cal stuff seemed to work well in XP12. and for me, the road and rail network in somewhere like LA still far exceeds MSFS's visual appeal. MSFS will pretty much stay my main squeeze but it would be nice to have XP12 set up for those moments when I really want to try something different. Glad you've found a setup that works for you, too.
