The time investment with the best rate of return I've ever made were the 10 minutes I took to screenshot all MSFS settings.

Needed it already a couple times as I have the same issue of lost settings like all the other people in here from time to time.

With all settings at hand, it's a 5-minute task to re-set the settings just as they were before instead of taking 3hrs for it.

 

Even better than screenshotting: make a short video using the XBOX Game Bar.

Just hit "Windows + G" to open it, then record your settings and in case of a loss of settings, just watch your own video 🙂

Try setting your UserCfg.opt file as read-only, so the sim can't mess with it. Obviously have to set all the settings you want before doing it.

Some may have messed with it in the past, set it as read-only and forgot, thus it can't save your settings and resets every session.
