How to get FSLTL to use AIG models and repaints?

Featured Replies

Hello gang!

I am a happy FSLTL user and have the program running well and well configured.  Now I want to step my AI a notch by having FSLTL use AIG models and repaints for the missing models and airliners in FSLTL.  I've gotten AIG installed and have run some preliminary tests but I see no difference or AIG models being used.  Are there any souls out there that have this setup working well that may be able to offer any good hints or tips on how to get these 2 programs working well and leveraging each other?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Dennis D. Müllert

You don't have to do anything at all, actually. You only have to have the models and liveries from AIG in your community folder. There's a setting in the FSLTL config file where you can enable/disable AIG, but it's enabled by default.

Keep in mind that they are only used as a fallback, so only when there's no FSLTL model / livery for an AI aircraft. E.g. a 737MAX or some exotic airlines.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

unafortunatelly you can't use the AIG models that have FSLTL , then  can't take advantatge of the good amount of AIG liveries

I only use FSLTL when flying in regions like USA, Western Europe and some parts of Asia where I'm sure there are enough airlines liveries already in the FSLTL fleet.

When flying in other areas, like the Caribbean and South America, I prefer to use AIG and disregard FSLTL, because for these zones there are not enough (if any) FSLTL liveries, and the current AIG liveries stock is certainly very diverse and complete.

In short, I recommend to use the best option between FSLTL and AIG depending on the area you're flying to/from.

Cheers, Ed

Hello folks,

I'd like to append an example to this conversation if I could please. Lets take Delta Airlines they are still flying the 757-200 which AIG has several models and liveries for although FSTL does not have it in their database. I use the FSTL injector and prefer it within the sim, I also have additionally purchased FS traffic which FSTL allows you to choose whether or not you would like to use this model set as a fallback and of course I choose yes; however the option to use AIG is not asked during the configuring of the FSLT launcher. So my first question is is it possible for FSTL to use the 757-2 from the AIG model set and secondly is there something that needs to be done for this to occur?

Thank-you for your time,

John

FSLTL will use all models and liveries in your community folder, with priorities: It will first look for an FSLTL model/livery. If none is found, it will take the AIG model/liveries as a backup. You don't have to do configure anything, it's by default set like this IIRC.

Appreciate the quick confirmation and reply, thank-you.

I use Little Navmap which also shows AI traffic and the models that are used. I definitely saw FSLTL using AIG models.
By default FSLTL is set to use 2nd party models but you can set it to not use them. If you do not see any AIG models than you might have to check that setting.

Controllers: Fulcrum One Yoke | MFG Crosswind v2 pedals | Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant |Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant | Stream Deck XL & Plus | TrackIR 5 Tobii eye tracking

I think I need to look at a tutorial to setup the AIG Traffic Manager up correctly because the only thing I really did from here is download the models and airlines with no intentions of using their other program for traffic injection; I want to use FSTL exclusively. FSTL uses both model sets that I have already FSTL and FS Traffic. I was able to test this by going to Memphis where Fedex resides, they use both the A-300 and the 757 as I can see only AIG has these 2 models and their liveries and last night these two models were substituted with a 767 and a 777; I'd love to be able to correct that and I think a youtube tutorial on how to setup AIG just to be recognized by the simulator is a step in the right direction.
