June 22, 20232 yr This is actually a freeware Spifrire, from .ORG. And it seems quite happy in XP12. So I'm happy too! Started out from Gatwick, was planning to head to Southend or maybe round the Kent coast to Dover but then I spotted the Dartford Bridge and thought "hey, I haven't done anything silly in XP 12 yet . . ." And so off I went and as I'm pointing this way now, I thought I'd head off to the Smoke And more silliness You know what's just up ahead, right? But I was going a bit fast and I'm a bit out of practice with XP so I pulled up and over this time. (But I did get an A318 throught there in P3D once!) Carrying on westwards Was going to put down at Heathrow, but still only had the Aerosoft one in place here, and that's too ugly for me, so I just skipped past and headed on out west. But more opf that in a later post Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
June 23, 20232 yr Very nice, Andy. Were you flying over default scenery? And don't worry, as long as your plane is not yellow and you don't fly inverted under bridges, you'll be fine. We all know, who's famous for this kind of stunt 😄😄 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Not entirely sure, as I keep switching stuff in and out, but this was either Orbx London or Simheaven Europe. And as for flying inverted under bridges . . . It may not be inverted, and it is only partially yellow, but I think this might qualify But that's a bit too easy, and I like a challenge, so let's try something a bit bigger. In theory, there should be about a metre clearance either side for a 787 getting through the box at Tower Bridge, so let's take our appropriately named private 787 out of EGLL and have a go . . Actually had several attempts at this, and no amount of running super slow, or slewing, or any other tricks would let me do it. Crashed every time (but all the pixels survived and were rescued). So tried again in the Airbus. As you can see - loads of room! All these are from a couple of years ago, and were probably posted before. All from MSFS, and I suspect XP12 and its flight model probably wouldn't let me do this anyway. But hey, I might give it a go and post the results in the XP forum. It'll annoy the hull out of all the cockpit botherers over there <grin> Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. June 23, 20232 yr Lovely pictures with the classic Spitfire, Andy...living the life of the virtual aviator to the fullest...🙂...I see... Your action pictures coupled with a glimpse of the Millennium Dome brought back, to me, the heroics of a certain (fictional) British Secret Service agent, in the opening sequence of The World Is Not Enough ....🙂...

I try! Thanks! Never saw that one, not a fan of Brosnan as Bond (although he's been great in lots of other stuff). Daniel Craig has been very impressive but it's still the original for me. Connery just WAS Bond. October 28, 20241 yr Hello, I am trying to work out whether to buy X-Plane 12, and having a good Spitfire is what I am looking for, the pictures of the Spitfire here do NOT match the Freeware Liveries for the XP12 version on .ORG, seemingly. Can you provide a link to the plane, so I can check things out. What you showed above is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

October 29, 20241 yr Many thanks, that is the Polish Spitfire in your video! So it does work in XP12 too?
