Weather in P3dV6?

Featured Replies

Did I read somewhere that Active Sky will not be ready for P3dv6 when it debuts?  I can't seem to find WHERE I read that, but that's what I'm writing about.  How will we generate real weather in V6?  Will we be resorting to the Real Weather toggle in the sim until something comes along, or will we have to just click on a weather scenario in which we want to fly?

Stan

Not sure about other weather addons, but AS will not be ready for release.

Personally, I will remain on 5.3 until AS releases and we have more clarity into the add-on landscape.

maybe pilots real weather i ready,it is

listed on fs pilots site.

Well, V6 has, maybe?!😉

P3D V6 -  PC spec: Intel i9-9900 overclocked 5 GHz HT off, 32 GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX3090 24GB, 2xM2 SSD, Skalarki HomeCockpit and Jeehell FMGS on a dedicated Server, PF3 for ATC, MCE, GSX, EFB, AS+ASCA+ENV and OrbXpf3-supporter.gif

I asked Damian of HiFi and here is his response:

"We're very excited about the P3D v6 announcement.

At this time, we can't share too many details, but what we can share is that ASP3D current version is not planned to be v6 compatible "as is", and a significant interface redesign for the new atmospheric engine, as announced, is an obvious fundamental requirement, with other significant factors. The details of this, including our product plans, features, schedules, pricing, and other specifics are yet to be finalized.

Thank you for your patience while we work hard to eventually deliver further information just as soon as we can."

And no there isn't a weather engine (like AS) incorporated into v6.

That seems ENCOURAGING to me. Love Active Sky. Thanks for getting that response from HiFi

Thanks for posting.

I guessed this would be the case for ASP3D, but I am very pleased to hear HiFi are at least considering v6 and have not written it off immediately as a "won't support".

For me the question is how much of a change in v6 is there with the current rendering of Enhanced Atmospherics that we have in v5.x (i.e. is it evolution or evolution in v6?). I don't know the answer to that right now.

Mark --- according to LM, True Sky is being dropped for a new weather engine. Whether it is called EA or not isn't known now. So it is a major change...
